A compromise resulted from my parents, I had one week to decide if I would go to said boarding school and if not I had to get three written essays of why I shouldn't go from my friends. I had one major reason I would want to go. I would never have to see Grace again. The cons though were losing Adeen and Rai, having to make new friends, which was impossible for me, and being so far from home. The one problem though was I had two friends and my only other options were Grace and Seth. Not the greatest options I do say so myself.
The next morning I trudged to school after finding my bike tire was flat putting me in a very sour mood. I walked maybe fifteen minutes when a blue Ferrari pulled up next to me, "Hey sweetie what are you doing walking to school.", Diane said chipperly.
"My bike broke." I muttered looking past her to see a third year boy reading a gigantic dictionary. A freaking dictionary.
"Heh are you looking at Emit? He's my cousin he moved here over the weekend!" Diane continued as she pulled open the back door.
"Uh what are you doing Dede?" Emit said looking up from the large book.
"I'm bringing the poor child to school Emit." Diane said beckoning me over.
Diane sadly didn't go to my school or I would have asked her to do an essay for my dad: "Thanks Diane you are a lifesaver.", I smiled and hopped into the fancy car.
The drive to school consisted of Diane singing with the radio and Emit getting annoyed and smacking her with his book. Then they started laughing and I sat there trying not to laugh at their antics. If only my family could do that.I Shove that depressing thought to the back of my mind. I need to focus on the task ahead I need to find the third person to write a essay for me. That thought drives me forward with new determination.
I exited the car with new energy and bolted for the door when a arm grabbed me around my waist, "Ugh! Lemme go I gotta be places!" I whined.
"Aww c'mon Lypsy you don't want to see me!"Adeen whined letting me go a fake pout on his lips.
"Stop being a baby Adeen." I said searching through my things, "Anyway I need you to write my dad an essay so I can stay in this school before next tuesday."
"Wait what! Your dad is trying to switch schools!"Adeen practically screamed at the top of his lungs catching a few odd looks.
"Shh Adeen the whole world doesn't need to know." I grumbled, "And yes that's why I'm asking you to write him an essay."
"I will not let you leave me!" Adeen said squeezing me into a hug that could kill.
"Adeen let me breath!" I gasped as he let me go again.
"Yeah Adeen let the poor potato breathe she's as white as a sheet" Rai stated
"Oh Rai I need you to!" I said still looking for the papers my dad had given me to give to my friends.
"What do ya need me for it looks like you've got all the help you need" Rai mutters under his breath while glaring holes through Adeen.
"Ugh I need three people and you are one of my people Rai and stop pouting." I say finally pulling out the paper, "Unless you want me to leave!"
Taking the paper Rai stands there wide eyed at the paper like I had just handed him his death sentence. Finally he spoke after what seemed like hours of silence."Yeah sure thing small fry but what are you gonna do about that third person" he queried
"I'm not sure yet actually... I might just have to ask or beg Grace." I mumbled.
"OH NO NO WAY AM I LETTING YOu ANYWHERE NEAR THAT BITCH AND HER SCUMBAG FOLLOWER" Rai growls.
"Rai at this point she may be my only option!" I said on the verge of tears. Adeen looked like he was gonna kill someone and I poked his face trying to make him snap out of his weird state.
"What! Huh?" Adeen shrieked like a girl.
"Oh My Gods Adeen who knew you screamed like a girl," I giggle.
"I don't usually. I was just thinking and you scared me!" Adeen mumbled playing with his sleeves.
"Pfft I don't believe you Ad you sounded pretty girly for it to be a one time thing." I teased poking his face repeatedly.
The five minute bell rang and I had to run to my first day first class. Our block schedule was first day and second day. I hurried myself to my art class. We were doing realism and I still hadn't decided what I would draw so I simply let my hand do as it pleased. To my horror I had drawn the room I had been held captive in chains and all.
My art teacher looked at the drawing and smiled, "That is very good Ms. Fae. I've never seen something so full of emotion.", he stated nodding.
Seth who was unfortunately in my class looked over and laughed, "Seems you can't get over us can you Caly."
"Don't call me Caly, Seth." I hissed.
"Aww Calypso are you upset that I haven't shown you more affection?" He whispered into my ear.
"No!" I jumped up and crossed my arms.
"Calypso." Seth said his eyes getting dark.
I sat back down and shuddered. He smiled and shifted towards me. If only I had viewable magic than maybe someone would notice my distress. His eyes watched my every movement and continued to do so for the entire class. My drawing was all too much of a reminder so I gave it to my teacher. I wandered to my next class and found myself looking over my shoulder every few minutes or so. Finally lunch approached and the anticipation was killing me. I shifted in my seat becoming restless and the teacher glared at me. I couldn't help that I wanted to be in a safe place with my friends. I looked around the classroom and realized not only kids in my grade were here there were third and first years. I noticed Emit sitting near the door nose in a book muttering about how bad the teacher's grammar was. It made me smile at him knowing he and Diane were related. The bell rang and I was out of there so fast practically running down the hall. I reached my locker and grabbed my lunch, which consisted of fudgsicles and assorted fruit. I meandered down the halls to the lunch room to find Rai and Adeen waiting for me to arrive.
"Hey guys! Why are you waiting here?" I questioned.
"I decided we should be better safe than sorry." Adeen replied chipperly. I nodded acknowledging his kindness.
"Oh look Seth! It's Calypso!" I heard the devil before I saw her.
"H.. Hi Grace." I stutter.
"Calypso you should sit with Seth and I!" she mused.
"Um ok." I whimper walking over to her. Adeen and Rai have me a confused look.
"Grace if she gets to sit with you I'm going to as well." Adeen started no questions asked. There was no telling him no at that point.
"Fine!"Grace growled.
As we walked over, "Are we to turn in our essays teacher?" Adeen mocked.
"Wow! You actually did them!" I said trying to hide the surprise on my face.
"You think we would let you leave?" Rai asked.
"What is this about leaving?" Grace sneered.
"Here" I say handing her a paper, "if you want to keep torturing me, write an essay with the requirements on the sheet."
"Say no more" she sneered.
I inwardly groaned as I watched her place the precious paper in her bright pink bag. Two were finished but Grace had me hanging in the balance. I slowly ate my food Seth's eyes burning into me. For some reason he seemed angry and sad. It made no sense to me whatsoever. Why on earth would he seem sad, he basically mouth raped me with what seemed like pleasure but he looked at me like I was gross. He continued to look at me like I had signed my soul over to the devil and seemed thoroughly displeased with this turn of events which I personally thought was weird.
Grace walked up behind me and whispered in my ear, "Meet me after school under the outside bleachers little bitch. We have some things to talk about."
I jumped as her breath touched my ear. Adeen looked alarmes from my sudden movement and Rai looked thoroughly displeased. "OK Grace" I muttered growing annoyed.
