I checked our 'play room'. He wasnt there. I scanned the room, scared he would appear from no where. I sat on the mat which laid at the center of the room and stared at the window.  Sometimes, I forget what outside looked like. The last time was when I was six. I missed the fresh trees, and the feeling of grasses on my feet. I had been stuck in this hell-bound building for seven years, and i can say I had given up the thought of ever leaving.
......
"Daisy....", his voice brought me out of my thoughts. I stood up immediately and stared at my feet. He came closer to me and raised my chin. "The key is right here....." . I knew this saying too well. Since age eleven, I had been made to memorize every bit of this 'poem'. I kept my head low as he reached for my breasts. I closed my eyes, and waited for what's next. But rather he froze. I opened my eyes and noticed his eyes had turned pale. I backed away from him as he dropped dead on the floor. I was so speechless. I stared at his body on the floor- it was turning grey. His dead body....
DEAD BODY!!!!!.
It just dawned on me- Pete was dead!! DEAD!!!... Then I did the weirdest thing. ...

I started laughing.  I didnt know why I was laughing or what was funny, but I felt a huge urge to laugh. I had not laughed like this for a long time. I probably would have laughed to death,  if not the phone that rang in his pockets. I slowly reduced my  laughter and reached out for the phone to see who was calling.
