"Okay this is Jacob Maters 17, blunt trauma to his side and abdomen, GCS 15 possible internal bleeding the paramedics recalled as they entered the A&E. She felt a little sick as they entered the hospital, she just hoped she wouldn't see anyone she recognized, but as Jacob groaned in pain the thought was pushed from her mind.
"Okay Jacob lets have a look at you" the Doctor spoke, "are you mum" she asked cheerily, "no, no I'm not" she felt the flush spread across her cheeks at the comment.
"Okay sorry", "I'm his teacher" she added seeing the woman nod in recognition.

"His pulse is lowering, he's tacicardic" Connie pointed out watching the monitor and the numbers dip up and down.
"Yes good spot okay straight up to surgery there must be a bleed" she ordered and before Connie could reply she felt the bed moving towards the lifts.
As he reached the ward he was barely conscious, she found her self pacing outside the theatre waiting for news.
She saw surgeons rushing in and out before the echo of shoes drew her attention. A short woman in killer heels that would rival hers moved towards her. She looked like Jacob she had his eyes his nose, "you must be Mrs Masters" she offered her hand as the lady moved beside her.
"Yes what happened" she asked as she ruffled in her bag for her phone, "Yes I'm here now, I'll wait for you" she spoke placing the phone back in her bag, "My other half, he's so worried".

She bit her lips knowing she couldn't trust herself to comment "He's had blunt trauma to his side and abdomen there was a bleed, possibly liver or kidneys" she moved to sit beside the woman as she leant against the wall.
"He will be okay though?" she asked feeling the colour rush from her face.
"Sit down its a shock and in your condition you need be taking care of yourself".
"My condition" she snapped looking to Connie.
"Oh I'm sorry Jacob told me and your bump" she smiled trying to appease the rather hostile woman.
"What else has he told you" she gasped moving to sit beside her frostily.
"Can I get you anything" Connie offered.
She ignored her comment "He's always getting himself into fights and scrapes, he's a bit of a loose cannon I struggle to control him" she sighed.

Connie rolled her eyes she didn't believe a word of it, "Hmm" she sat watching the door.
"You know the police are on their way" she interjected after a long silence, her anger boiling.
"No why?" Her head snapping up and her gaze meeting her own. "Because to get injuries like he has somebody has to have done that to him" she replied shrilly. She couldn't believe this woman her son lay in Theatre and she was clearly only worried about covering up how he had got here in the first place.

As they wheeled him out, she followed down the hall. She knew he wouldn't be awake for some time, but she couldn't leave him she couldn't bring herself to. She knew she wasn't welcome the stares from his mother and step father made it quite clear.
"Connie is that you?" She inwardly groaned fearing this would happen. As she looked up to see Eliot's kind face approaching her with glee etched across his features.
"It is" he grinned pulling her into a tight hug.
"How are you, oh my gosh it's been years, how are you. Nothing wrong, always a risky question when you bump into people in the hospital" he chuckled.
"No not me, I'm here with someone, a student" she replied seeing his intrigued expression.
"A teacher eh, I wondered where you had disappeared to, you left so suddenly".
"Hmm well I'd rather not go into it, but yes I'm teaching now and getting along just fine. Educating young minds and all that" she smirked.
"It's so lovely to see you Elliot, it really is" she smiled kindly moving to give him a hug before she moved back towards the ward, "I best go, but perhaps we can catch up" he spoke as she nodded eagerly as she had seen Jacob come round.

"Arh Mrs Beauchamp you stayed" Jacob spoke his smile undeniable as she smiled back at him.
"I had to make sure you were okay didn't I" She smiled, "I should get going now I know your okay. I've been here longer than I should" she spoke nodding to his mother and step father.
"Don't go" He pleaded, "I'll come back later after visiting hours okay" she winked and he smiled.
"Thanks miss" he called as she moved towards the parents, "Im glad he's on the mend, I'm sure the school will be in touch to keep up to date with how he's doing" she smiled formally.
"Thank you for your help and support" his step father spoke holding out his hand.
She took in awquardly, "no of course, well I should go" she spoke removing herself as quickly as possible.
