Many people believe that creatures of the dark do not exist. It is a hoax created by movie makers to make a quick dollar. Well I hate to tell you but that is a big fat lie.

I should know. My father is a vampire and my mother is a witch. My brother and I are of a very rare breed. One of a kind you might say.

Oh my I've forgotten my manners. My name is Maryanne de Lioncourt. Yes as you may have guessed my father is Lestat. Shocking I know.

From the stories my mother used to tell me and my twin brother Marquis she met my father on a clear winters night. He tried to feed off of her but she repealed him with her magic.

After a brief duel of some sorts my parents found they had much in common. Before the blink of an eye they began a relationship. As you can imagine that relationship resulted in me and my brother.

My father didn't really stay long after we were born. We didn't see him again until our 5th birthday. Mother was furious with him. I assume they made up because he stayed with us for the next 5 years.

Those were the most wonderful years of my life. We were a family. We were happy. We traveled with him and his band.

Until one day when the whole world seemed to stop turning. The day my mother had to leave us. Hunters caught wind of us.

Mother wouldn't risk loosing all of us so she went off to lead the hunters away. We haven't heard anything from her since that day. That was 8 years ago.

Marquis and I are now 17 year old going on 18 year old hybrids traveling around with our rockstar vampire father. I know strange right? Any how back to present day.

I'm sitting in my room at our house in London. I jotted down a few new song lyrics I came up with. I loved to sing. Like father like daughter right?

"Sister what are you doing copped up in this room when it's such a beautiful night?" Marquis asked me as he walked into my room.

I playfully rolled my eyes. "I'm writing down some new lyrics if you must know brother." I said. "Really may I see?" He asked.

I handed them to him. He smiled as he read it. "This is really good sis. You should give these to dad." He said.

"I dunno Marquis what if he doesn't like it? You know how critical he is." I said. He scoffed. "Your his little princess. He can't say no to you." He said squishing my cheeks together.

I smacked his hands away. "Look tomorrow is our birthday alright? Show them to him tomorrow and ask if you can preform this song at his concert in Death Valley." Marquis said.

I shook my head as I went downstairs to get a bottle of water. We eat regular human food but need blood on occasion.

"He's not going to let me do that and you know it Mar." I said. "Come on Annie. You'll never know until you ask him. Now come on I'll ask dad with you." He said.

"Ask dad what?" We turned to see dad walking downstairs. He was most likely just now waking up. "Nothing daddy." I said quickly.

"I know when you are lying to me cherie." He said. Damnit! He always knew! I thought up a lie quickly.

"Marquis and I were wondering if we could go to hunting tomorrow night." I said quickly. Dad raised his eye brow.

"That's it?" He asked. I nodded. "Very well. You have my permission to go hunting tomorrow night." He said.

He kissed my cheek before leaving the room. He was most likely was going to catch his meal. I felt Marquis glare at me.

"You sicken me you know that." He said. I punched his arm. "Shut up." I said. He rubbed the spot where I hit him.

I went back upstairs to my room and onto my balcony. I looked up at the night sky. "I wish you were here mom. You'd know what do to." I said.

Not a day went by that I didn't think about my mom. I clutched the locket that she gave me before she left. I missed her. What hurts the most is not knowing if she's dead or alive.

I put my headphones in and laid on my bed. After a while I was almost asleep. I felt Marquis shake me awake.

"What is it?" I asked taking my headphones out. "Roger is bringing two girls home for dad." He said with a wicked smiled.

"Well you guys have fun with that." I said. "Dad said you have to come downstairs." He said. I groaned.

There's not telling what kind of groupies Roger would bring home. I hope there not too bad.

"Are you hungry?" Dad asked us. "Marquis is always hungry." I teased. "And you Annie?" He asked. "No not really." I said.

"Your color is off. Your feeding tonight." Dad said. I rolled my eyes. "I saw that." Dad said. "Busted!" Marquis laughed.

God I wish there was another girl around besides me. Roger came in with the girls. Talk about whores! There was one who had on a fishnet looking shirt.

Marquis and I sat on the couch watching the girls flirt with our father. The fishnet girl turned to Marquis.

"Your awfully cute too." She said making her way over to us. "Come on let's have fun." She said sitting in his lap.

I rolled my eyes as Marquis buried his face into her neck. I got tired of waiting on him so I bit into her wrist. She started screaming in pain.

"Damnit sis!" Marquis yelled as he bit into the screaming girls neck. The warm liquid felt good as it hit my throat. Her limp body hit the floor when we were done.

This was our lives. Everyday it was the same. I began to grown tired of the same only thing. I longed for an adventure. If only I knew then what I know now.
