the marchesi mansion ^^^

Somewhere, deep inside my head, I knew I was going to die today. But, I needed to survive. My life was molded into a drama-a piece of artwork drawn by a nine-year-old.

Actually, no. I started this chaos, and I was overreacting.

It has been a good hour since my mom returned home with a handful of freshly-plucked sunflowers from the nearby chapel grounds. And, now, the three of us are staring at the front door like utter idiots. The air felt compressed, and we could barely inhale enough for a reason I couldn't explain. However, I'm sure of one thing. It would be a pleasure to be swallowed by the ground later on.

"He's here!"

What I meant was, it would be a pleasure to be swallowed by the ground now. Sam ran towards our window and took a quick look before running towards me. "Where're your huge scissors? I need them." My eyes widen. I was sure she was talking about the huge grasscutter I took home a while ago. "You're not killing him." She pouted and crossed her arms over her chest. "You're no fun." I heard her huffed. Shaking my head, I look at my mom who is now unlocking the door.

My hands are shaking. I am a hundred percent sure that I had been breathing at a weird pace. Reciting countless of prayers wouldn't help me in this state at all. Something might've gone wrong at this very moment because as soon as the door was yanked open, the guy behind it wasn't the Marco I knew. I knew for a fact that it wasn't Marco Marchesi.

"Mrs. Beth! Ah, you've grown beautifully. You look brighter than the sun!" I fought the urge to gag at his tone. He must've forgotten that his parents died recently. I was horrified, and all I've ever wanted was him to flee out of my sight. My head shakily turned towards Sam's direction. Her mouth was agape, and her hands were fisted-ready to attack. "Anna." My head snapped back at Marco. I couldn't help but notice the changes in his features.

His eyes.

Aida's eyes.

His eyes have never changed. Something about them seems so pleasing, and I hated the feeling that was overtaking my system. "Marco. I-It's nice to see you." My voice broke. It was hard to keep my cool now that I can actually see him. He eyed me for a long time, my cheeks started to heat up. I looked away before he could even notice. Personally, stares from men don't bother me anymore. However, when Marco laid his eyes on me, there's nothing I wanted to do but look away. Maybe I was right, Saturday's aren't for me.

"Introduce me to the girl at the back." He spoke striding across the living room and stopping right beside me. I froze. He's too close to me. My system is shutting down.

"S-She's my-"

"I'm Samantha."

He looked at me and snickered. I looked back with frightened eyes. I was sure I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight. The proximity between our bodies made me whimper in uneasiness. My shoulders were both tensed and my hands are uncontrollably shaking. Marco raised his eyebrow and smiled.

"A new best friend, huh?"

What did he mean by that?

"Relax." He let out a strained laugh. He walked pass by me and handed a folder of documents to my mother. He stared at me for the last time, burning holes through my body.

"Shall we?"

And all throughout the entirety of my Saturday, I was constrained to withstand the presence of Marco.
