It was a Monday morning in mid- June when I looked out the window. As I peered around the curtains my life changed forever!

Take yourself away to a world you have never experienced, 200 years in the future. The UK is run by an evil dictator and a government full of heartless officials. Our lives are set in stone and we have no choices as to how we lead them. Rebels are Shot. Those who disobey are beaten. Everyone is worked until they can't work any longer.

Before we begin, I should tell you a little about myself. At the time, I was a 14 year old girl, with blonde-brown hair and brown eyes. I was quite tall for my age and, until now, had lived a fairly normal life, or normal for the time I live in. This story starts on an ordinary day, of an ordinary week and on a so-far ordinary year.

I woke up, jumped out of bed and drew the curtain. My parents cars were gone, which was fairly normal, as they worked long hours, like everyone else. I looked at the view, and saw the beautiful moorland, ruined by a towering, 20 storey office block. Passers by went about their daily routine, heads down as they hurried to their jobs.

I went downstairs and got ready, packing my schoolbag. I ran back upstairs to make sure my room was spottless and I stopped to look out of the window, once again.

That was when I noticed something unusual. A large, white van drew up on the street outside. I had never seen it before, which was weird as nothing new ever happened here...

A young woman with blonde hair tied into a neat bun stepped out the car and briskly crossed the road. She walked along the pavement, but came to an abrupt halt when she reached our garden gate. Before I knew what was going on, I heard a loud knock on the door.

When I opened the door, I recognised my aunt instantly.

'Hello' said Elana, briskly, 'you had better come with me.' She briskly toward the van. I followed, wondering whether it was the right thing to do. My aunt, who had been missing for 2 years, had suddenly turned up on my doorstep like nothing had happened. I stepped into the van and Elana revved the engines. We set off, racing down the lanes at what felt like a million miles per hour.

Trees flew passed. We sped through the red lights and the speed limits at 100mph. We raced through villages and towns until all of a sudden a huge mass of skyscrapers appeared from over the horizon. I had never seen a city before and it was giant. We got closer and closer and the city seemed to grow and grow until, finally, I saw a sign that read 'Welcome to Glasgow'.

We drove on through the city until all of a sudden, Elana turned to face me. 'Bethany, you know why we are here?'

I didn't. I knew nothing. Not why I was here, not where my parents were, not where I was going?

As we reached Glasgow city, Aunt Elana began to slow down, eager to get to our destination, but careful not to get any strange looks from passers by. Finally, we drew up and she told me to jump out.

I jumped out and hurried after her as she ran straight in the entrance to Glasgow Station. Crowds of people milled about, waiting for their trains. Elana just barged right throught the middle, sending mugs of coffee flying an causing sandwiches to soar out peoples hands. People screamed after her,

'Excuse me!' and

'Why the rush?

Elana took no notice! I hurried in her footsteps, trembling like a rat running from a pest control agent. People gawped after me, staring with wonder.

After pushing her way through the heaving queues we finally reached the ticked office.

'Two tickets to Oban, stop... um... 7... I think? and be quick about it!' Elana ordered the bewildered ticket officer. Seconds later, he had handed us a pair of tickets. 'Your train leaves at 9:13, platform 15,' he said in a monotone voice, 'next please.'

Aunt Elana grabbed my arm and we sped across the station, flying back throught the crowds of people we had just stampeded through.

We just reached the train in time. The consequences of missing it? I don't know?
