It has been just 10 years since the great war of 2277 had come to an end. The Legion and the New California Republic had been battling over independence in Las Vegas and all across the Mojave desert. But nor the Legion or the NCR had one chance at winning the war.
A man and a woman, Abraham DaSilva and Brianna DeWynter had traveled together since their youth. Over time, Brianna had developed a massive crush for Abraham, but was too anxious to tell him. Abraham grep up in a vault in Washington D.C, and Brianna grew up in a vault in Las Vegas called Vault 21. But together, they ventured to the ruins of Las Vegas to slay the evil overlord of the Strip. This man's name was Mr. Robert House. He controls his small empire from the confines of the Lucky 38 casino, where no other living person has set foot for over two hundred years.
Mr. House never wanted independence, but it soon came, because Brianna and Abraham had traveled to New Vegas, gained entry to the Lucky 38 casino, killed the 261 year old overseer of Vegas and stopped him from upgrading his Securitrons to MK II.
"Brianna, we have to go now...," said Abraham.
"Just a sec, I'm trying to cut the power to all of the casinos in the area, including this one. It will allow us a better escape," She replied.
"Good plan," Abraham said.
Meanwhile down on the ground, the NCR had entered the Strip, all in lines and with Service rifles, providing safety to General Lee Oliver.
"Look for two people. Man and a woman. If you see them, kill them," General Oliver ordered.
"Yes sir," the troops shouted in unison.
With that, groups of soldiers entered the casinos and shot anything that moved. After an hour of watching the NCR slaughter citizens from the top of the Lucky 38 casino, Brianna and Abraham saw a small group of soldiers carrying a body out of the Tops casino. The body was male, and was wearing a checkered suit.
Benny.
"That's Benny," Abraham pointed out. "He shot me in the head back in Goodsprings. Good riddance,"
"How did you survive?" asked Brianna.
"Long story," Abraham replied.
Back down on the pavement, the General was getting impatient and radioed the NCR Explosive team to run a bombing run across Vegas.
"Go. Quick!" Brianna yelled.
They both ran to the express elevator at the back of the building and went down. Once outside, they ran for ages until their legs were killing them.
"Look... D.C..." Abraham pointed out. "We're half an hour from D.C. Just follow the road and we'll be their in no time,"
"I hear Vault 101 has shelter. My Pip-Boy 3000 says that it's one of the only vaults in the entire wasteland that hasn't been corrupted," Brianna said.
"You're smart," Abraham said, giving her a small kiss on the cheek.
"Before we go, Abraham, we must go to Megaton first. We need food, drink, medical care and sleep. Come on," Brianna said, pointing west.
So the two walked across the wasteland, until they reached the heart of Washington. They set up sleeping bags and bottles of Purified Water. While they were focused on sleep, they weren't focused on the hostiles that could be out there, until they heard loud footsteps.
"Hey A. Did you hear that?" Brianna asked.
"Yeah. Shoot to kill," Abraham said, pulling the 12.7mm pistol from his holster.
Then the shoot-out began. Two against five. They jumped out of cover to attack the Super Mutants invading them. There was dismemberment and decapitation everywhere, but the two remained unharmed, but armed to the teeth.
"Dead," they said together.
They walked on, past Rivet City, past Andale, until they changed direction and headed north, towards Megaton. They arrived at the gate of Megaton.
"Et hoc spectat melius quam Vegas," said Abraham.
"What?" asked Brianna.
Abraham didn't say a word, until the sheriff arrived.
"Name's Lucas Simms. Town sheriff, and mayor too," the sheriff said, approaching them.
"Cool. I hear that megaton bomb down there needs defusing. True?" asked Brianna.
"Yeah, speak to Leo Stahl if you need Mentats on your side. He's an addict," he said.
Abraham walked down the path, to The Brass Lantern...
