The sun finally set and the stars were out, shining in the clear sky.
I put on my boots and my jacket as I made my way out the door. I looked at the woods and took a breath. This is it.
I started walking to the beginning. My nervousness increasing with each step I took. I can do this.
I took my first step in, and nothing happened. Second, nothing again. I kept walking, and with each step I took, I became less nervous, yet the anticipation in my gut kept building. For what? I don't know.
Suddenly, a twig snaped.
I spun around so fast, I could have gotten whiplash. However, nothing was there. I walked towards the sound after I picked up a branch to at least be able to defend myself better.
Another twig snapped.
This time it was in the other direction. My heart started to race, and I began to fear the woods. Maybe he was right.
I heard the steps coming closer and closer, so I turned around and swung the branch at whatever was behind me. I shut my eyes tightly as it seemed someone caught it. Then, someone chuckled.
I blinked open my eyes to see the one and only Brian. Wait. What?
"I told you not to come out here."
"I'm sorry." I say, but curiosity got the best of me. "Why are you out here? I thought you said it was dangerous."
"It is. There are my things in these woods you wouldn't want to face. Come with me I'll take you home." He replied ignoring my first question.
"Why are you out here, Brian?"
"I thought you might venture out here, so I came to make sure nothing happens to you."
His face was different out here than it usually is at school. His expression was more concentrated and stern as we walked through the woods. Completely different from the laid back expression he normally has.
As my house came into view, I looked back once more into the forest, and turned back to make my way up to my house.

His POV
It was just a regular nightly run when the most amazing smell hit my nose. It smelled of a combination of citrus, floral, and woody scents. Maybe a light perfume mixed with her natural scent.
My heart pounded in anticipation. My mate is here. Finally. And then she came into view.
Her back was to me. I could see her beautiful brown locks that reached down to her waist. She had an hourglass figure: small waist, beautiful curves. Her legs were long and lean, her appearance already making me want her. Absentmindedly, I stepped forward on a twig. Unfortunately, it snapped, causing her to turn around. I quickly hid behind a tree so she wouldn't spot me. I sucked in a breath as her face came into view. Her soft, fair skin and rosy cheeks gave an innocent appearance. Her plump lips made me want to kiss them all day long. Her long, dark eyelashes framed her eyes beautifully. And her eyes. Those beautiful green eyes with hints of blue made my heart speed up.
She's beautiful.
Suddenly, another twig snapped from the other side of her. I almost growled, feeling protective of her, but thought twice. She would get scared. She stayed looking towards my direction, and I heard footsteps coming closer, but as I was about to leap out to protect her, she swung a branch which I only now noticed, toward the man behind her. He chuckled.
I recognized the man as Brian. He is one of the warriors in my pack. At least it wasn't a rogue.
Recognition flashed in her eyes. Does she know him? They started to talk, and jealousy started to boil within me, but I kept it down.
As they walked back to her home, I presume, I followed to make sure she got home safely. Once she made it inside and Brian shifted and ran into the woods, I ran off as well.
I made my way up my staircase to my bedroom in a better mood. My mate exists.
I made my way out onto the balcony and lit a cigarette. I took a drag and exhaled the contents. My life is about to start.
I'm still worried though. In my time, I have been cruel. I've killed suspicious rogues without blinking. I've gotten the reputation of being the king of nightmares due to my nature. She could be frightened easily if I dump all this information on her at once. I needed to make sure she doesn't get scared. Luckily, she will still feel the pull of the mate bond even though she is human. It won't be nearly as strong as the one I have for her, but it will be like a general human attraction for her. I just needed to make a good first impression.
I took one last puff, staring at the stars above me before making my way to find Brian.
I knocked on his door and soon enough he opened it groggily.
"Alpha, what can I do for you?" He asked wide eyed, instantly straightening his back.
"I need your help with a girl." I asked a little nervous.
"Pardon me, how does this involve me?" He asked confused.
"You know her." It's seems as if he knew exactly whom I was talking about but wouldn't say yet.
"Yes, come in." He opened the door wider before I stepped in. He gestured to sit in the living room, and I did exactly that. He sat down as well before asking "Is she your mate?"
"Yes." I replied.
He gulped. It seems as if he had an internal battle of whether or not to tell me about her or not. "It's Chloe, isn't it? The girl with brown hair, green eyes. Her, right?"
It's seemed as if he didn't want it to be her, but it was. Nodding I said, "Chloe." Beautiful name.
"Look, Chloe is the type of girl who can scare easily. She is scared of love. Her last boyfriend cheated on her, and her parents also left her here when she turned 18. She has trust issues, and I don't know if this is for the best. All she wants to do is finish her senior year quietly," He said, looking nervous.
"I have waited over 100 years to find her. I am not giving up." I replied curtly.
"Okay. Just don't hurt her." He said quietly after some time debating in his mind on whether to allow this or not. It wouldn't matter anyway. I was his alpha.
"I won't." We then said our goodbyes, and I made my way back to my house.
How exactly am I supposed to convince her to not leave me?
