Lost Time

It has been six months since I have seen or talked to Chase . He came by and tried to talk to me at my aunt's house but what Jasmine said still rings true in my head . We just aren't mean tfor each other . We live in two entireally diferent worlds . He mingles with the social elite while I mingle with the low class our lives are two seperate ones . He tried to appologize to me for his sisters behavior but in the end I knew she was right .

I have gotten several packages and letters from Chase , two letters have come from Jasmine . None I have opened I just don't have the time or the energy to invest in opening them . My heart can't take it while I am over here .

I am currently getting ready to go back home for a few weeks . I leave out tomorrow I took my leave so I can go meet my family and also the girl I was supposed to meet while I was home last time things just didn't work out that way . I just hope I don't see Chase while I am in town . I can't deal with all that right now and focus on meeting all these new people in my life . Besides Lex it's only two weeks surely you wont see him . Just as I am shoving the last bit of my stuff in a bag one of my men walks in " You all packed Sarge ? " Thomas asks me . I look at all my bags and sweep the room with my eyes one last time .

" Yeah I think so ! Everything is packed . You going to be ok with the crew for a few weeks ?" I ask him . He just looks at me with this you have got to be kidding me look . I raise my hands in surrender " I know I know you got this . Don't forget who I am . You know I worry about you all when I am not here . " I tell him .

He shakes his head " Yeah yeah I know you worry entirely to much . You know we are all going to be fine " Thomas says grabbing my bag ." Your ride is here to take you to the airport . You won't be home till tomorrow afternoon will you ?" Thomas asks me . " Yeah I think my aunt is supposed to pick me up from the airport . I will be at her place if I am not with my family so if you need me and I don't answer call her she will give you their numbers . If you need anything call me ! " I say . " How weird is it that I am actually leaving here an only child to only return with brothers ? I am so used to being the only child I have no idea if I will even fit in with them " I say walking to the car that waits for me . It is currently me and a few other guys headed home .

Everyone salutes as I walk past I hand my bags to the driver and he puts them in the bed of the truck . " Ready ? " The driver asks me as he looks at me . I nod " Yes sir as ready as I will ever be . " I say to him . On our way to the airport it's pretty quiet no one really says anything until we get closer to the airport . " Where is everyone going ?" Army guy number one asks everyone " Home this was my last tour . I am officially retiring this trip. " Navy guy says " Home and then back in six weeks " Army guy number two says . First Army guy looks at me " What about you Sarge where are you going ?" " Home " Is all I say no need to discuss our personal life with anyone .

Before he can say anything else we pull up at the airport . " Thanks for the lift . Safe travel home boys " I say to everyone grabbing my bags .

I make my way to the ticket counter " I need to check in ma'me " I say to the lady behind the counter ." Name ?" She asks me " Alexandria Morgan ma'me " I reply . She types in her computer , prints my boarding pass . " Here you go you are in Gate E . Have a wonderful flight . Thank you for your service " She says smiling brightly at me . " Thank you ma'me have a great night ." I say back to her . I grab my bags and head to the security check .

I make it through security and am now sitting at my gate waiting for midnight so I can board . I decide while I am waiting and I don't have any distractions now would be a good time to read Chase's letters .

This is letter forty-seven . I miss you . I hope these letters have found you in good shape and doing ok . I wont lie I am a complete mess without you . When are you coming home ? My mother tells me that Jasmine has written you a few times . She has tried to speak to me but I have shit her down each time . She cost me my most precious gift in life . You . Please write me back . Whether it is to tell me to piss off and leave you alone ( which I am praying it's not to tell me that .) Or to let me know when you are coming home .That way at least I know you are ok . Dammit Alex I miss and love you . Please come back to me baby .

By the time we board the plane I have read all of Chase's letters . He even wrote me on my birthday . I find my seat and put my bag in the overhead compartment . I will read Jasmines letters when I wake up from my nap unless I sleep the whole flight .

I wake halfway through our flight somewhere in the middle of the ocean . There is a little baby sitting next to me playing with my nose . I had forgotten where I was for a second . Chase used to do that to me when he was trying to wake me up. I smile at the little baby and he tucks his head under his moms chin . She looks over at me " I am so sorry did he wake you " She says apologizing to me . I shrug " It's fine . I don't mind . I need to get up anyway " I tell her . I grab my letters from Jasmine and begin to read them . The first one is pretty much a short three word apology . But the second one is long .

Hey it's me Jasmine ! I used Chase's address I hope you actually read this even if you recognize Chase hand writing . Listen I am sincerely sorry for everything I said to you at the family dinner . If I was in your place I'd do just what Chase is doing to me . I totally understand if you wont accept my apology I deserve it . I hope you are staying safe overseas .

Look if you wont forgive me it's fine it really is , but please talk to Chase . I seen him in passing last week he looks miserable . Mom says he is not the same since you left . I hate that I had a hand in making my brother this miserable . I hate that I had a hand in ruining his happiness . I should have been saying what I said to you to my ex . I knew he was only with me because of my social status yet I continued to date him . Please Lex forgive him , forgive my brother . Don't you dare think you are not good enough for him . If I had to hand pick who he ended up with I would choose you every single time . I pray we can move past this and be friends one day .

Should I see Chase while I am in town ? I do need to go over to his place and get my stuff that I had left over there . It will be one thirty by the time we land so he will still be at work . Olivia his house keeper wont mind if I pop in and grab my things .That's just what I will do . That way I don't have to see him ! I don't think I will be able to turn him down if he is in my face this time . I am not strong enough .
