October 10th, 2016: 3 hours before the incident

Beep* beep*

"Ugh" I groaned

She keeps on texting me. She knows I'm in class right now. She's always begging me for help when will she learn how to help herself. I love her to death, but fuck she needs to chill out. I'll just text her back. Her texts read...

"Idk if I can hold it in Charlotte I need you"

"I don't have time for this control yourself" I replied

She had been going on about her feeling terrible today, but that's every day. I'm her only friend and it feels like I'm babysitting her. I've been there for her so many times and for so many reasons. How long can she stay like this. I put my phone away in my bookbag. I can hear the vibrations coming from the phone. She keeps texting me. The class ends and I get feed up and call her. She didn't answer. I was shocked. She mostly always picks up the phone. I try again and no answer. I didn't want to think the most, but she's planning something. The lunch bell rang and I go to our normal meetup spot. She's not here

"Where the hell could she be" I yelled

I started to ask people around me to see if they had seen her, but nobody has. Then again why would I ask. They don't even see her when she's here anyway. My phone started to ring, I see it's her.

"Hello Melanie?! Are you there"

"Yes...I am" she replied

She sounds like she has no air in her lungs.

"Why do you sound like that where are you"

"I need you to be there"

"Where are you Melanie!"

"You will see me today after school...everybody will"

"What the fuck does that mean Melanie. I can't help if you don't tell me where you are"

In the matter of seconds her voice changes again

"I don't... need your help Charlotte. You all will see me after school"

She hung up after that. My emotions were raging. I was angry and frustrated. I don't what Melanie is planning are where is she but I'm going to find her.

30 minutes before the incident

I've looked in each and every corner of the school and she's nowhere to be found. I'm pissed off. Melanie has took this way too far. My phone started to ring again; it was Melanie. I picked up

"Melanie I'm done. I'm done looking for you and I'm done with you entirely. You made me look like a fool trying to look for you. I had to skip 2 of my classes just so I can find you. You are a piece of shit and I don't deserve the pain that you give me. Whatever your planning do it. I will not be there. You need help and I can't give it to you anymore. We're done."

"You're gonna watch me disappear"  she said

The phone hangs up. I feel myself about to cry. I don't care anymore. At this point, she can "disappear" for all I care.

2:50pm

I walk out of school and go to the bus loop. As I'm waiting for my bus I heard screaming. Frightened it was about Melanie I ran to where the screaming was. Everybody in the school is in one giant circle looking up.

"It can't be her" I thought to myself

Everyone has their phones out and people are yelling don't jump. I get to where and I look up then see Melanie. She's staying on top of the roof of the tallest building in the school. She's on the edge and her legs are shaking. I had no words to say. I couldn't stop it now it was already happening. I felt a rush go through me. I felt like I could jump all the way up there and stop her. Teachers were calling 911, the ambulance, and the fire department. This was a whole dilemma. Even though my heart rate was going through the roof, I stood there. I remember Melanie told that one day everyone will know her name. I didn't think anything of it. I thought she meant she wanted to be famous. I stood there thinking.
