Tough Love

Chapter 1:

Felicity's Pov:

When the nurses bathed the babies they came back in the room with them.

"Uhm miss there is something strange." The nurse says.

"What? What happened?" I ask nervously.

"They're eyes are blue and that's very rare. Does anybody in your family have blue eyes?" She asks.

"Yeah my on my mom's side." I say.

"Oh okay. There's nothing to worry about then sweety. It's just extremely rare for people with this skin tone to have these color eyes. Brown eyes are usually dominant." She smiles.

Is she being rasict? I'm mixed with white, black, and Puerto Rican; and Darrell is black.

"Oh okay." I reply calmly. She hands me both of the babies and I rest them on my arms. They both look up at me with their beautiful eyes.

I smile at them and begin to breastfeed intill they fall asleep. When they do the nurse puts them in the incubator to sleep.

After that I fall asleep.

~The Next Day

I wake up to the nurse shaking me lightly.

"Sorry to wake you but you'll be discharged from the hospital today." The nurse smiles.

"Okay thank you."

"I'll be back in a few to take out your I.v." She says.

"Okay" I say and she disappears into the hall way.

I reach over to grab the hospital's phone and I dial my aunt's number. I can't call a shelter because I'm a teenager, still in high school, with two kids. If I call them they'll ask about my mother and it'll be downhill from there.

My mother knows terrible people that can do terrible things to me or even worse; the twins, if I get her busted.

"Hello?" She answers.

"Hi aunty, uhm I had the babies." I say.

"Really?" She asks.

"Yeah, and I was wondering if I can stay at your place until I have enough money to get an apartment." I say.

"Sure, that's the least I can do for you." She says and I smile.

"Thank you, I'll be over there later" I say hanging up the phone.

When the nurse discharges me I take the twins to the car that's parked in the hospital parking lot. I strap them in the car seat and drive to my aunt's house.

When I find a parking spot I get the twins from their car seats and cross the street to my aunt's Building. It's a three story house and she's on the third floor.

I ring the bell and comes downstairs to open the door. I smile at her and she grab's Elijah's car seat.

"They're so beautiful." She says as we begin to walk up the stairs.

"Thank you." I say.

"So how are you feeling?" She asks.

"I'm a little exhausted." I say as we reach the door.

"Well I signed you up for the school a few blocks from here." She says while opening the door.

"Okay" I say.

"I'll watch over the kids but you have to get here before 5:00 because I have work at 6:00. And you need to go to Babies R' Us to buy the breast milk suction cups." She says as she she sits the car seat on the floor and I do the same for Kaitlyn.

She hands me a 100 dollar bill and tells me to bring back her change. I nodd and go outside.

As I am walking down the street I see this girl and she look really pretty. I need extremely pretty. She has her hair done, nails done, nice clothes, and a few piercings. I've always wanted to get a piercing but my mom would beat my ass if I did.

The girl is with her friends and they're really pretty too. The girl is also with a really cute guy and they're holding hands.

When I see them do that I start to think about Darrell. I wish he was here with me today but I have to suck it up and move on.

When I reach to the store, I look around for the item. As I'm looking for it I have an idea. I should change my whole entire look.

Make some actual friends like that girl has. Also feel like the center of attention. That would be an amazing feeling but I need some money.

I could take my college funds I have in my bank then wait until I get ahold of Darrell's money, but I also need to buy baby stuff.

I already have baby clothes and bottles and stuff but I don't have a crib.

While I'm in my thoughts I finally find the box. After that I go to the checkout. Even though it feels really awkward I try to ignore the eyes on me.

When I get back to my aunt's house she has packed my clothes and the babies clothes as well. She also shows me how to work the machine.

It's not to late so I decide to go to my bank to take out some money. When I get there I take out 500 dollars. After that I go to the makeup store. Not just a regular makeup store.

A grade a, top brand store. I get some mascara, eyeliner, foundation, concealer, eyebrow brush, and pink and red lipstick. It all comes to a total of $140.

When I finish I go to Forever 21, American Eagle, and Urban Outfitters. I make sure to get clothes that look like what that girl had, and show more skin.

When I finish getting clothes and accessories for myself, I'm left with 110 dollars to buy stuff for the twins. I buy some diapers and a crib. After that I gt a cab and go back to my aunt's house.
