Chapter 1

Paige's POV

"Paige! Chloe is here!"
Mom yelled at me from downstairs, and I ran down as fast as I could. She was standing in the doorway smiling at me.
"Chloe!!"
I ran up to her squealing and hugged her tightly. She squeezed back just as tight. It was so nice, I've missed her so much!
"My twinnie!!"
She exclaimed, and I pulled back and smiled at her.
I began dragging her up the stairs to my bedroom.
"C'mon chlobird, let's go upstairs and wait for maddie!"
She suddenly resisted, and stared at me with a hurt look.
"What? You invited her Paigey? I thought we were just hanging out."
I stopped and looked at her. I didn't understand why she looked so upset, we were all close friends.
"I thought id reunite the original trio, since we haven't seen eachother all summer!"
I paused, she didn't seem any happier.
"I thought you liked Maddie?"
She didn't answer for awhile, then finally she looked up with tears barely visible in her eyes, and a fake smile plastered on her face.
"Yeah, no your right, I do. It's going to be fun. It's just.. no nevermind, it's okay. I just thought we were hanging out. That's all."
Her response seemed very fake, something was going on, I could feel it. I wanted to ask her about it, but then,

Ding dong!!

"Maddie is here, sorry Chlo, we'll talk later, yeah? It's going to be so much fun!"
I ran to the door and my twinnie followed slowly behind, when I opened it, Maddie stood there with a big smile on her face. She yelled,
"PAIGEY!!"
and wrapped her arms around me, I hugged her back and yelled,
"Mads!! I've missed you sooo much!"
"I've missed you too!"
She pulled away and saw Chloe standing there awkwardly staring at the floor, she was fiddling with the hem of her shirt, which ment she was nervous, why was she nervous? It's just Maddie!?
"Oh, hey Chlo."
She fake smiled at Chloe, and then shot me a killer glare, I could almost hear her asking,
'Why is she here?'
But I just smiled and brushed it off.
"Let's go in the pool!!"

•2 hours later•

We had been playing in the pool for about two hours, and it hadn't been awkward at all. I don't know what all that drama at the door had been about before, but I was glad it was over and my best friends were getting along ok again. Well, maybe not great. Both of them had avoided talking to each other very much, but it was a lot better. Now We were eating grapes mom brought to us when Maddie claimed she needed to go to the bathroom. As soon as she was gone, I turned to Chloe, I needed to figure out what was going on.
"Chlo? What was all that about this morning? How come you don't like Maddie?"
She looked startled, and I guess I shouldn't have been so upfront about it, but there was no need to beat around the bush.
Finally she began to answer.
"It's not that I don't like her, it's just that all through the summer, she's been sending these texts.."
"Paigey!"
Chloe was cut off by Maddie, who was standing in the doorway.
"Of course."
She mumbled under her breathe, and I just ignored her.
"I can't find the bathroom, can you help me Paigey?"
I nodded and ran to her.
We began to walk upstairs, and I went down the hallway and pointed to the bathroom.
"Here you go Mads!"
I started to walk away when she grabbed my arm and yanked me in with her.
"Maddie!"
She slammed the door.
"What's going on?"
She smiled.
"I had to get you away from Chloe so I could tell you."
Finally, I was about to find out what was going on.
"Well, Chloe has been sending me really mean texts all summer, and she's been like, telling me to stay away from you, because she wants to be your twinnie so that she can date Josh. And I don't want you to fall for that. Don't worry Paigey, I'm here for you, even if she isn't."
She gave me a big hug, but I couldn't hug back. I was totally speechless. Would chloe really do that? Wasn't Chloe trying to tell me about texts Madison has been sending? I decided not to believe Maddie until Id discussed this with Chloe.
