Nappa and Raditz: a survival story

Synopsis

Piccolo and Goku fight Raditz. Everything is the same and Goku is killed, however Raditz's armor is strong enough to blunt most of the blow. Piccolo is exhausted from the strain and Raditz is nearly dead anyway, so he breaks his arms and throws him a mile away. Bulma still gets the scouter and everything else remains the same.

Raditz lands in a village which nurses him back to health and he gets somewhat humbled. Upon his full recovery he flies away.

Goku is revived and Raditz comes back. Everyone readies themselves to fight but he tells them he only wants to fight Goku, as he regretted how he introduced himself before. He ensures that he will not kill Goku. However Goku says Vegeta and Nappa came to earth, so he wants to stop them before they do anything major. Raditz agrees to postpone it and decides to help Goku.

They go to Nappa and Vegeta. As before, Tien, chaotzu, Yamaha and piccolo are dead. However this time Vegeta notes that Raditz seems to have gotten much more powerful. Raditz, being coy, says he has brought the sayian back after much hard work (he still fears Nappa and Vegeta) But they easily see through this ruse. The fight begins and Nappa is quickly overpowered by the four, with Vegeta doing the same explosion seeing him as useless.

Nappa, angered by this wants to fight Vegeta. But he feels pained and has to rest. He swears to get revenge. Meanwhile Raditz and Goku fight Vegeta. The battle is long and arduous, and Raditz lends his brother a hand in defeating Vegeta. However, the fight changes as Vegeta is reluctant to become an oozaru as so would Raditz. Vegeta is quickly defeated but still manages to escape, and Raditz and Goku arent too injured. They begin their fight and when they're both beat to an inch of their lives Raditz tells Goku to stop and tells him about Zenkai boosts, and how they both just received one. They're then both given sensu beans.

Goku shows Raditz around earth as the ship is being prepared for their arrival. Meanwhile Nappa looks for a place to train, and dedicates himself to becoming stronger so he can confront Vegeta.

Eventually Goku and Raditz leave on the ship and they both train in the intense gravity. It does mean however that twice the amount of sensu beans is used. By this point Nappa had noticed popo flying back down and seeing his massive powerlevel demanded he trained him. Popo repeatedly denied as Nappa was uncontrollable, and asked him to become wise and try again.

Goku and Raditz arrive and everything plays out similarly. However, when ginyu takes Goku's body Raditz gets into a fury of uncontrollable rage and attacks him. As Goku and Raditz have nearly identical power levels it's a fairly even match until ginyu seemingly holds back. Then he changes bodies with Raditz and easily kicks him down to the ground, defeating him.

Goku as ginyu blocks the blast from ginyu and takes the body of Raditz. Ginyu is once again in the frog, but Goku and Raditz are in the wrong bodies. Naturally they try everything but are incapable of doing it, so resolve to wait until they're back on earth. In the meantime Goku teaches Raditz his techniques and vice versa.

Goku, as Raditz, witnesses krillin's death and turns super sayian. This essentially looks the same as regular Raditz but with shorter hair and some locks going down the side of his head. He fights freiza but is weaker in raditz's body and is killed. Raditz as Goku then turns into a super sayian and is able to defeat freiza in his weakened state. Raditz is easily able to operate the space pod and uses it to return to earth, and everyone who died on namek as well as the z fighters are alive and well. They then summon shenron a second time and put everyone in their correct bodies... but due to the wording of the wish, captain ginyu is now no longer trapped in a frog.

Meanwhile Nappa spent his time alone to wisen himself and allow himself to calm down. Popo allows him into the hyperbolic time chamber where he trains but is unable to turn super sayian due to lacking s cells. He does, however, attain many useful skills training alone.
