Norex took on a rather large mission after hearing about its rich payout. Against the wants and recommendation of his fellow mercs, he took the job. To him, it was simple. Kill a dragon that had been terrorizing a small town. For Norex, this was a very easy cash grab. The platoon of 36 mercenaries, geared up and set out.
After a large amount of questioning and investigation, Norex's scouts brought back interesting new. The dragon happened to be posioness, as well as quick. The dragon only came out at night, preying on sleeping resident as its main way of food. It came from the river system that ran through the town. Norex had no plan. He said to wait till night came, and to fight the dragon as soon as it raised from the river. Night came, and so did the dragon. Norex's group stood at the ready, Norex on a far away building, being ready to rain Hell from above. With soft splash after soft splash, Norex's group fell. The dragon pulling them into the river and drowning them from below. His group responded, throwing large amounts of oil and gasoline onto the surface of the water in hopes to burn the creature, but to no avail. Merc after Merc fell into the firey river. The ones that did survive the failed mission retreated and ran into the forest around them, and Norex was banished from his group for killing his group. The mission was an utter failure.
Norex traveled far from the town , and found himself in a bustling city, named, Ebantu. There, the headquarters of "The Guild of Hunters" stood. Norex was attracted by it, and entered the red building. Large groups of people sat around him, drinking, eating, laughing. Many had bounties in their hands, looking for their next big hit. Others, passed out from alcohol or exhaustion. He approached a bar, sitting down at the stool, he asked the bartender what the place was. He explained it to be a place where bounty hunters, mercenaries, and hit-men, come to find their next strike. The rewards were handed out by him, and only him. After a light conversation, the bartender pointed him in the direction of three people, two girls and one other guy. One was passed out, drooling on the table, another flipping knives in the air and laughing loudly, and the last, dressed in a large suit of armor, reading a book. Norex walked over to them, and his story had begun.
