│CHAPTER ONE : PRAY FOR THE WICKED│

Cameron Potter entered into this world on the 18th of February 1983, born to Lily and James Potter. He bore a striking resemblance to Lily- his facial features were all hers, with the exception of his brown hazelnut eyes.

He grew up in a positive household- his parents were supportive, always showed sufficient care and concern for him without coming off as overbearing. They understood him well and believed in him, sometimes going out of their way to make a smile light up on his face. You could go as far as to say that they spoiled him; as a matter of fact, they did. Ranging from top-notch Quidditch seats to getting a multitude of presents on Christmas day and his birthday, it would suffice to say that his parents loved him very, very much.

However, he wasn't bratty or arrogant. Although his parents and relatives definitely spoiled him beyond compare, his upbringing did not affect much of his morals growing up. He was polite to strangers, helpful to those in need and would never think twice before assisting someone. He could have easily been a Hufflepuff but James would have never allowed it. A Potter in Hufflepuff? Preposterous.

His friends, were also another factor. With his parents being close friends with the Weasleys, he saw the Weasley twins and their younger brother- Ron- at almost every turn, developing a long-lasting relationship with them. His long term exposure to the pranksters had also helped him to be more easy-going and develop a sense of humor, eventually becoming a famed prankster, an accomplice of the Weasley twins. He might have resembled Lily in features and manners as a child, but he soon grew up to take his place as his father's boy. The resemblance in personality was almost uncanny.

It was easy to say that Cameron Potter had a childhood full of delights and no regrets. And that was Lily and James' plan, after all. To all the second-generation kids like Ron and Cameron, there was no need to know about what happened before them. And such, they blissfully remained unaware that the room they play in was once a graveyard of memories of a child that never did grow up.

Ron, despite being Cameron's senior by three years, had been Cameron's sole childhood friend and the 'big brother' he never had. The duo got along swimmingly, with Ron coming over to the Potter household at Godric's Hollow almost everyday.

Everything was perfect and right in their world. They played Quidditch often, ate Lily's delicious pastries whenever hungry and talked about grown-up stuff (or so they thought). But then Autumn came and Ron was gone, away to Hogwarts and gone from Cameron's life for nearly a year. Cameron had cried- all the tears' worth crying-, begging Ron not to go, not to leave him alone. On the day when everyone was leaving for Hogwarts on the Hogwarts' Express, Cameron clung to Ron like glue. After all the students had gotten on board the train, it began to move slowly. Ron held Cameron's hand through the open window, looking equally as miserable and teary-eyed. The train started picking up speed, and Cameron ran alongside the train as far as he could, until the train platform ended and he was left there, alone. Twin tears streamed down his cheeks as the eight-year-old lost the person he had called 'brother' for his whole life.

And while Lily and James watched with a slight nostalgic smile, they silently wept for the child they had lost ten years ago, a child which would have been on that very train had he not died by the hands of the Dark Lord. He would have been the boy Cameron called 'brother', would have been the boy who shed tears for leaving his family, would have been the boy embarking on an adventure ahead, spending the upcoming seven years of his life in Hogwarts.

But none of these were his, because he was long dead.

Or so they thought.
