Rose sat across from a teenager named Simon Lewis as she waited for her niece Clary ( who was a year younger than her) to come meet them at the cafe to show her results to see if she got into art school which has always been Clarys dream. Rose had just gotten back from idris with her parabatai Isabelle, she decided to stay with her family for a bit and then move into the new York institute.

I was sitting in this little cafe across for Clary's bestfriend Simon Lewis. To be honest he annoyed me with his 'I love Clary' I mean like come on you basically just stare at her or talk about star wars. Just admit that you have been friend zoned.
My phone buzzing brought me out of my day dream. Isabelle was constantly texting me about how she missed me or when was I going to meet her brothers Alec and Jace.
Simon looked at me "do you think she will get in?".
I tapped the side of my coffee cup then looked at him. "of course she will her drawings are amazing" Simon seemed to relax at that.
He then said "she's just taking a long time".
"It's Clary she takes for ever to get anywhere. She constantly stops to say look it's a bird." Simon just looked at me and shook his head.
I was just about to tell him to shut up when I heard the bell at the to of the cafe door chime.
I instantly looked over and saw Clary with a sad face. With all the years I have known Clary I have realised when she is faking something. And she obviously is.
Clary reached our table and Simon said "Okay, tell me the professors names and I'll end them."
I just laughed and said "and the award for best wanna be boyfriend goes to." Clary just shook her head at me.
Clary turned to Simon "don't bother ..." Clary said, placing her portfolio on the table along with a folded bit of paper.
I took it and the first thing that cought my eye what 'congratulations you have been accepted' I looked at her with a smirk and said "I knew you were always my favourite niece". She looked at me confused "But in your only niece aunt Rose?". I looked at her "So still my favourite".
Simon snatched the paper out of my hand. Rude .Then turned to Clary who now had a big smile on her face. "Sad face really?."
"I already knew" I grinned, as Simon and Clary did one of there weird handshakes.
Simon said "you did good Clary " "Thank you" Clary signed, "It's weird. They like my assigned work, but they completely freaked over the designs of our graphic novel ." She explained, pointing to her folio which was littered with random drawings. Sometimes I wish that Jocelyn had told Clary by now. All I knew is that when I came back from idris where I was training to be a shadowhunter, which we told Clary was summer camp, that little 10 year old Clary had totally forgotten about the shadow world which I then learned was Jocelyns doing. Jocelyn made me promise that I would protect Clary.
"This day will go down in history as the greatest 18th birthday ever." Clary said. "Which is why we are celebrating tonight." Simon declared to Clary. "With Maureen after our show"
"OooOoooh Maureen" I teased Simon.
He turned to me and glared "shut up". He the said " Which reminds me aunty Rose will you be joining us tonight"
Did that little shit just call me 'AUNTY ROSE' I replied with "sure but if you ever EVER call me 'aunty Rose' again I will be sure to cut miny Simon off"
Simon visibly paled at this and Clary was just in shock. I just laughed like a psycho.

I had seven throwing dagers littered on me.
"Hello famala" I said as I walked into the living room.
"Hello babysister" Jocelyn said. She knew that I hated it when she called me that.
"Rose" luke greated me with a hug. "Shouldn't you be wearing more clothes" I rolled my eyes. After my parents died I lived with Jocelyn and Luke this was when Clary was four. Since then Like has been really overprotective of me. He is basically my big brother.
"We were about to leave with out you" Simon said.
I replied with "Honey you can't leave with out the sexy one" then strutted out the front door.
