The more you weigh, the harder you are to kidnap. Stay safe, eat cake
✔️✔️✔️"What do you mean, you knew!?"
Corin never took Hermione to be a very angry person. Usually she was very calm due to her intelligence and her ability to handle situations well. Turns out, when faced in a situation where the girl didn't have a clear answer, she became an emotional mess. An angry, emotional mess.
"See, you're kind of not the only Witch that I know..."
"WHAT?!"
"I have a feeling that I'm making this worse." Corin rubbed the back of her neck with a sheepish grin. "Listen, I only witnessed you use magic a few times. Besides, I never told anyone about it, so it's okay, right?!"
Hermione had never felt so conflicted in her entire life. Not only was Corin her best friend, but Hermione was not allowed to use magic out of school. She couldn't just get someone else to obliviate her because then everyone would be aware that the girl screwed up. She could not have her reputation tarnished. How Corin came to witness Hermione unknowingly doing magic was beyond the already-confused girl, but she honestly didn't care. She had to fix her past mistakes.
By letting them run wild.
She gave a defeated sigh, looking into Corin's hopeful brown eyes. "In front of Wizards and Witches, you're a squib. A child born from magical parents who is incapable of performing magic itself. If anyone finds out here that you don't come from a line of Wizards or Witches then they will take your memories in a heartbeat and I probably won't get to see you again if I'm found with you. We need to be careful not to attract attention—"
"THANK YOU!" Her friend squealed, wrapping her arms around Hermione's neck and jumping up and down. The smaller girl began growing dizzy, removing Corin from her.
"Yeah, yeah. Oh Merlin, am I going to regret this?"
"Yep!" Corin answered for her, a grin on her face. She couldn't be happier to learn that Hermione found seemingly no problems with her learning about magic.
Hermione ran a hand down her face at the girl's antics. "Go home, Corin. Please, just for now, before someone realises something."
"Uh, about that."
"Don't tell me—"
"I got kicked out."

Ron Weasley nudged his friend with his shoulder, grabbing the boy's attention instantly. Harry faced the boy before looking at where he was pointing to see his other best friend, Hermione Granger, being smothered by a girl who looked slightly older than her. Ron cleared his throat, a frown on his face. "You have any idea who that is?"
Harry rolled his eyes. "How am I supposed to know?"
Ron didn't seem to notice the mocking tone. "Hermione seems to be enjoying her company. We need to go get her, Mum will be leaving soon."
His friend nodded slowly, and the two made their way over. Corin stopped jumping up and down in pure excitement. Instead, she decided to put one arm over Hermione's shoulder and the two made a stance similar to that of Fred and George, Ron's twin brothers. Hermione cleared her throat, upon noticing them. "Ron, Harry, this is Corin Alexander. Corin, this is Ron Weasley and—"
"Harry Potter~! Yes, I remember you telling me all about them after your first year! Couldn't shut up about you two, especially you Ron." The girl nudged her friend who was growing more and more embarrassed by the second. She leaned down into Hermione's ear, whispering not-so-quietly. "You were right, he is oddly adorable."
Said boy flushed immediately, causing Corin to stop in her tracks and narrow her eyes. "Woah woah woah, back off bitch, this is my property."
"Corin!" Hermione scolded, all embarrassment quickly replaced by her motherly side.
Harry spoke up for the lot of them. "Hermione, Mrs Weasley is about to go."
The girl recoiled from Corin, a hand dragging down her face. "Alright.. alright. I'll see you after Summer, alright?" She went to hug the boy, leaving a rather prominent frown on Corin's face. First impressions were not going well. Harry said his quick goodbye's to Ron and a short goodbye to Corin as he proceeded to walk out into the crowd.
Hermione bit the inside of her cheek, looking over at Ron.
"Do you have an extra room in the Burrow, by any chance?"
