Chapter 1: From Red to Green

Y/N's POV ⇊↯

Okay... Y/N you can do this... Deep breaths.

I was standing completely still on the pavement at the edge of the road waiting for the traffic light colours to change from red to green. My heart was beating so fast that I thought it was going to jump out of my chest completely. It was the first day of my independent life and I was so nervous to enter it. People all around me were crossing the road with no problems. Mothers holding their children's hands. Businessmen rushing to work while having important phone calls... Everyone was crossing with ease so why couldn't I.

"Come on Y/N you can do it, it's not that big of a deal," I spoke to myself quietly so no one could hear.

A hand started waving in front of my face causing me to slightly jump.

"MISS ARE YOU OKAY," A man said to me, I turned around to face a man who looked to be in his late twenties.

"MISS, HELLO ARE YOU OKAY" He repeated again.

"Oh s-sorry, yes I'm fine...Why?" I questioned.

"It's just that the light is green and you're not crossing and you looked like you were either in deep thought or just daydreaming," He chuckled slightly revealing a small smile that showed off his cheekbones.

"Ahh yes, um I guess I didn't realise haha..." I chuckled nervously while scratching the back of my neck.

"Well then, let's go you look like you might be late to work"

"Oh r-right work..." I started stuttering I was so nervous for work, It was my first day and I really didn't want to mess up, yes I know I'm probably being so overly dramatic about it but I wanted everything to go perfectly because it was the start of me being independent and I don't know why but I was so nervous. I wanted the day to go perfectly.

I took a deep breath and smiled at the man "Let's go,"

We crossed the road and he looked at me with a frown, "Are you okay, you look nervous haha"

"Me? Oh it's just that it's my first day at my first job"

"Ohhhhhhhhh" He chuckled slightly "Whats your job?"

"I am a prosecutor"

"Cool, I'm a lawyer so I guess our work is kind of similar," He said while smiling sweetly like he was trying to make me calm down.

"Haha, I guess so then" A small smile was planted on my face. The man put out his hand "My name is Hoseok, Jung Hoseok" He smiled and I shook his hand "I'm Y/N, Park Y/N"

"Well it's nice to meet you Y/N, I have to get going otherwise I'll be late to work, but good luck on your first day and don't stress!" He said while smiling showing his teeth, which made him look awfully attractive.

"Haha, yeah I should probably get going too. It was nice meeting you Hoseok and thanks for wishing me luck haha"

"No problems, bye" He bowed and walked towards a tall glass building. While I smiled and began to walk in the opposite direction.

"Well, this is it," I thought to myself as I took in a deep breath and began to walk into the luxurious building. "This is what I've been waiting for"
