"Mr. Chris Miller"
"Yes" I scoffed hoping that this doctor would actually give me some sort of diagnoses instead of just sending me away with some Advil or antibiotics and never checking up again.
My wife and I have gone to the hospital so many times in the past year it's not even funny anymore.
It was such a miserable day outside, it was raining so hard you could barely see out the window and the wind was so strong it blew things up and down the streets, hitting the windshields of cars, even a couple trees fell over. It was one of the worst storms in Seattle which probably was why this doctor was in such a bad mood. As for me, well I'm always in a bad mood.
"What seems to be the problem today Chris?" Dr. Shepherd had asked me.
"Well, I've seen many doctors in my time and all of them have told me the same thing, you are dehydrated. Then they give me fluids and send me home, please don't do that to me."
"I will diagnose you with whatever I think is wrong." He sound very angry when he replied with this.
"Alright then I'll just tell you my symptoms. For the past month, I've been overly tired, more than normal, and I have had a consistent headache."
"Well sir, it just sounds to me like you are dehydrated, have you experienced any dizziness or nausea?" Dr. Shepherd asked me.
Of course I had, I rolled my eyes and replied,
"Yes I have."
"Okay well, I think I'm just going to give you some fluids and send you home. All I can tell you is to stay hydrated and get some rest because I do think you are just dehydrated. Take any pain medications for your headache."
I just got up and left. I was sick and tired of people doing this to me until I met Doctor Nelson. He was one of the best doctors I have ever had, he helped me understand what was happening in my brain.
But before I get to that I just want to clarify why I'm telling you this story. I'm telling you this story so you can understand just a little bit, why I was so excited when I found out what was actually happening in my body to make me feel like this. Now on to what was happening.
