1. Meet Dua Alam

"Ah, 'muuuum', 'Muuuum', where did you put my headscarf?".

"What happend Dua? Why are you screaming so loud? And it's not good for a girl to speak at a high pitched voice. Did your manners Jumped out of the window? What's wrong?" Hanna said in exasperation.

Inaya has completed her graduation from NC state university in computer science and engineering. She is now doing a job in a multinational company with a good salary. On the other hand, Dua is a freshman at NCSU studying English literature. She started a new semester and everything is going great.

"Where did you keep my scarf? I have been searching for it all over my room. It is nowhere to be found. What am I gonna wear now?" Said Dua.

"Ah, it must be in your closet. Relax. It must be here, somewhere near." Hanna replied in an exasperation.

"Ah, okay, okay, I'm gonna find it on my own. For heaven's sake, please don't ever touch my stuffs." Said Dua. Dua deliberately cut short the argument with her mother.

"Ya Allah, bless this girl with Sabr. She is getting into my nerves these day." Hanna left the room by whispering.

Aliza doubts that her daughter has been possessed by some spirit that is making her to behave this way. Indeed, Dua is behaving slightly different from the past few months. But who knows if it's the spirits or something else that's bothering her.

After completing prayer, Dua sat on her bed. She reached for her phone that kept on the nightstand. Dua scrolled through her instagram feeds and checked all the updates and new follow request.

"1 new message"

Dua opened the message. It was from her friend Fayaaz.

Nevermind. Hope I don't have to remind you of our new plan. Better convince your mum soon. See ya tomorrow, xD."

After reading the messages, Dua threw her phone in the bed. She went to her dressing room and looked up in the mirror. She let the tears escape through.
