Okay, I promise to post more and I haven't been keeping this promise but I'm going to try my hand at writing a little fanfic. This is a Stony story and it's just going to be some cute shit. Can't fight this feeling by Reo Speed Wagon, inspired this. Also I would like to know what you think, and be real fucking honest. If it's shit just tell me, I don't care, it's not going to hurt my feelings. Okay here it goes...

Tony looked down at his watch for the third time and sighed. It's been fucking 45 minutes and he sat there in complete silence watching Steve and this cute little burnette  talking. They were completely gushing over some art related thing.

Tony thought it was going well, not even well, it was going amazing. Tony had finally got the chance to ask Steve out for lunch without any other Avengers hearing and coming along. The place he choose was a little spot in the corner that was a mom and pop run shop. When they got there, they got a little table, and the conversation flowed between they easily. They ordered and soon their meal was gone. They moved closer, leaning over the table that they shared.

As many first dates that Tony has had, this on by far was one of the better ones he had ever had. Well, it was until Steve exclaimed " It's Melissa McCracken, oh my god". She came bouncing over and Tony watched Steve's eyes light up.

They started to talk about synesthesia and her process of how she works. Tony was sitting back politely third wheeling, for a bit. After awhile, everytime that Steve would look at him, he would give a interested smile and the looks were getting fewer and far between. After awhile Tony got ready to admit that his date was over and he was left for someone else.

Tony sat back in his chair and was messing around on his phone. He jostled the table on accident making the coffee cup rattle in the saucers. Steve glanced down at his watch. "Oh, I'm so sorry for keeping you this long". " Oh no!" She rested her hand on his shoulder and Tony willing it to burst into flames. " Steve, your views on color theory and mix mediums is so refreshing!" "Thank you so much ". Steve blushed and all but batted his eyelashes. Tony had to take a long blink to cover the eyeroll.

Tony quit paying attention about two hours ago and last thing he remembered what that they were talking about was some kind of paintbrush. Tony's heard Steve say " it was so nice to talk with you ", so as soon as Steve stood up, Tony bustled him right out of there. Before another famous artist could come in and engage Steve in another conversation. They set down the street,Steve was radiating a glow of a man in love and Tony was radiating the surly scowl of a man that got one upped by a woman with two different colored socks on.
"You should have gotten her number" said Tony, a bit harshly, shoving on his sunglasses and stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Why" asked Steve looking confused. "Because you could ask her out and she was into you, plus you obviously you adore her". But Steve stopped walking in the middle of the sidewalk, forcing the rush of people to part awkwardly around them, "oh". Tony looked at him and said "What". Steve flushed pink, "I ...ummm... this was a date?  You and me, but I misunderstood, and I'm sorry". Tony felt so stupid, and he decided to tell the truth. " I thought this was a date to".
Steve's eyes narrowed. "But why are you trying to set me up with Melissa. "Well, I assumed that I must have been wrong about it being a date when you started to flirt with someone else" he said as he shuffled his shoes. It sucked, really really sucked, because Steve was everything that Tony wanted, and probably had a glorious supersoldier package that Tony would never be able to see.

Steve's mouth fell open. " I wasn't flirting". "She's amazing, her work with paints and how she expresses herself, with her condition. It blows my mind". Tony remained still staring at Steve. " Look, it's like meeting Einstein in a cafe". "Really, Steven" asked Tony. "Seriously, she's that cool. I love her in a completely wanna be artist way. I wish I could paint like her. That's it" explained Steve. "Alright, I get it" mumbled Tony.

Steve reached out and took Tony's hand into his. Pulling him closer until their bodies lightly together and he brushed his lips against his. "There's no one else on this planet that I want to go on a date with more then you". Tony let out a deep sigh. " I feel the same way Steve". He snuck another chaste kiss in before shifting out of Steve's space in case anyone had notice. Steve started walking again with Tony's hand still in his.

" Tony I'm really sorry, I was so comfortable with you that I didn't even think about it. It was incredibly rude of me to ignore you. I lost track of time" explained Steve. "Can we give it another chance? I promise I won't ruin it again". Tony chuckled, " you didn't ruin it". Steve's hand was  warm and comfortable in his. " I'm glad you got to meet your art Einstein, she seemed cool". Steve leaned down to give him one more quick kiss. They walked a little more in silence, down the street to the little ice cream shop by the Tower. " So this is still a date, right " asked Steve. " Still is" repiled Tony.
