My name is Hotaru Suzume.  I'm 17 years old and I live in an average home and live a normal life. I live in a town far from the big cities, the houses are made of stone. Well, today I had a pretty difficult day....actually I'm almost always having a difficult day. You see, my dad disappeared one day and we don't know where. Everyone is now convinced hes dead or just abandoned us. I don't believe any of that, my dad would never just leave us because we know he loves us. My mom decided to remarry a couple years after my fathers disappearance. I was about five when that happened,  my mom and the man got married after about a year of being together. She didn't realize it but I saw the true him.  He was cruel and awful. He beat me and yelled at me and said if I every told my mom he would kill her. So... I stayed quite, I didn't want to lose another parent. 

(p.s. sorry im not getting to the whole Vampire knight stuff yet -jessica)

I would always run away to my favorite secret spot. It was and island in the middle of the lake deep in the forest. No one ever goes there because that's where my dad  disappeared. So, I go there every time I'm troubled or hurt which is basically every day, my mom didn't mind because she knows nothing bad will happen to me there. The lake is so beautiful and clear. I built a little dock there and brought a boat so I could cross to the island. At night there will be hundreds of fireflies and it would light up the whole lake. It was an amazing sight, the lake would sparkle and glow. My dad and mom fell in love there. It was their first date and they sat there every night and when they finally got married and my mother gave birth to me they decided to name me Hotaru which means firefly. 

After my dads disappearance my mom never went back to the lake because it made her cry but she promised she wouldn't tell anyone else about the lake, it would be between the two of us. The day my mom got married with that man I went to the island to be alone(at this time I was 5). When I was on my way across the lake I saw a bright and shiny light come from the middle of the island. It can from a little cave under a huge in the middle of the island. When I went to go check it out I saw a small box it was about 5 inches all around. It was so beautiful; it had thorny vines and rose design. I picked it up ,then, all of a sudden I blacked out.

I woke up in a forest... then I realized that everything looked so... animated? I got up and saw the box next to me and put it in my pocket. I found a puddle and looked at my reflection...I became animated too! I had all the same features as I did in the real world; long brown hair, hazel eyes and tan skin. I was wearing a nice, long, warn coat and had my favorite cat mittens on... it was really cold since it was Winter. The forest seemed familiar. It looked like my forest back from home, but it was also different in a way. So I started exploring ( I was a fairly brave kid) and that's when I come across a lone house in the middle of the forest. I clutched my fist and hesitantly  knocked on the door. A boy with light silver hair and light purple eyes opens the door, he's about the same age as me. " Hello, I'm sorry to bother you but do you know where rose road is? (the street I live on)" I asked. He looked at me with a confused look and shook his head. "oh...okay well thank you anyway" I said a bit disappointed but then my hand is suddenly grabbed. I look back and  the boy looks at me and says "um, its cold out and its not safe to walk around at night, I think you should say the night and leave tomorrow." I nod and come in to see that there was another boy who looked just like him but frail and weak. "Is he your twin?" I ask. He nods and says "yes". After the awkward silence I ask if it was okay with their parents about me staying over and he said his parents were at work but it would be okay with them. Then i realize "oh how rude of me i didn't introduce myself!" . "My name is Hotaru Suzume, nice to meet you" I say with a warm smile. "My name is Zero Kiryu nice to meet you too" he replies. " and i'm Ichiru Kiryu, nice to meet you as well" Ichiru  says with a smile.
