wishing upon a falling star
will make your deepest wish come true
a lucky clover with four leaves
will bless you
destiny is something you decide
for yourself
following your heart
is the bravest decision of your life
none of these things are true
and the only reason we say these things
is because wishing makes us realize what we want
feeling lucky makes everything a chance
destiny makes us feel like we have control
and your heart
well
we are completely and indefinitely
inexplicably
destroying ourselves
by "following" our hearts
we know from the very beginning
that it's going to break us
