Akiko frazzled her already messy black hair in frustration, the experiment just wasn't turning out the way she wanted, sighing heavily she slowly stood up from the desk in the spacious yet dark laboratory she called home. She walked to the coffee machine she had near by (for countless late nights) and poured yet another cup of the drip coffee, the pot nearly empty now. She couldn't rest, she couldn't focus on anything else until her most prized experiment yet worked out. She took a large sip reflecting in her mind what went wrong this time while leaning against the desk. Akiko was 27, living in Tokyo, no boyfriend (or girlfriend) and always buried in her work. She was rather introverted and didn't have a ton of friends. She was a petite Japanese woman with long silky black hair, wore black glasses, always dressed in her white lab coat and pink high heels. She was rather attractive but much to shy to go out and meet anyone. You could say she was married to her work. She set the cup down on her desk and got back to work at her large super computer now frantically making new calculations and adjustments. Her long fingers flew over the keyboard at lightning speed, could this be it? Did she finally figure out what wasn't working? After typing it out she rushed over to the station she'd set up for this experiment and tried the new formula, she'd been at this now 4 years, she felt so close! She closed her eyes, stepped into the machine for what seemed the millionth time, squeezed her eyes tight....BANG!!! Before Akiko knew it everything was black.
