The next day, they bought some food with the rest of their money. That night, before they went to sleep, Carly had made a decision.
"Freddie, I need to tell you something," Carly said.
"Yeah, what is it?"
"I don't know if I can do this any more. Me and you have been an item, but, well, I think this is it."
"What?"
"I know, you finally got your dream girl, but with everything that's happening, me and you seem to attract trouble when we're together."
"Oh, yeah, sure, I get it," his voice was angry. "I help you all your life, and finally I get you, and now you're dumping me."
Carly was scared now. Not of Freddie, but there was a man in a white mash with a knife raised for the kill coming up behind him.
"Freddie," she said.
"What?"
She pointed behind him. He turned around. The man stabbed Freddie three times.
Carly ran down the hall, down the stairs and out the door.
