Two weeks had passed since then. [Name] found himself looking for every excuse in the book to see Izaya. Not to talk to him usually — in fact, the two hadn't exchanged any words since their meeting in the cafe — but to watch him.

He wasn't the only one doing the watching though. He often found Izaya watching him right back. Those sharp red-brown eyes seemed to follow him everywhere, and he loved it.

Someone who didn't love it, however, was [Name]'s younger friend Masaomi Kida. He had been the one to warn [Name] about the information broker the most. Masaomi was always going on about how dangerous and manipulative the black-haired man was. Today was no exception.

[Name] and Masaomi sat on a bench together. The younger of the two was angry, and for good reason, too. His psycho-obsessed friend had completely disregarded all of the warnings he had given him.

"You really shouldn't get any closer to that roach." The blond scolded, "He'll only use you as a pawn in his twisted games."

[Name] sighed. He really wished he hadn't told the kid anything. "Calm down Masaomi." He drug out his name in a playful whine, "I'm an adult. I can take care of myself."

The kid shook his head. "Just be careful alright? Please?"

The [h/c] looked fondly at his friend. "I will. I promise."

"Good," There was a slight pause before the boy continued speaking, "But if that roach ever comes after you I swear I'll beat him out of existence."

The two began to laugh.

[Name] didn't doubt him though, not one bit. The kid had grown rather protective over him. He wasn't sure on why Masamoi cared so much about him, but it was interesting to watch such an attachment grow.

"Iz-ay-a!" Came a sudden burly yell from a little ways down the street. Then came a crash. Then rapid footsteps and manic laughter.

"I'll be borrowing him for today!" Izaya announced with a wink to Masaomi, tugging [Name] up by the hand and pulling him along as he fled.

[E/c] eyes stared in both confusion and excitement at his kidnapper. He knew why Izaya was running. He knew about Shizuo and Izaya's rivalry; it was pretty hard not to after watching him for two weeks after all. What he did not know, however, was why he himself had been brought into it.
