Also check Artistic_Castaway on Instagram! She posts lots and helpful tips! I've gotten a few from her :3
Some DO's;
-Will and wont draws
PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHAT U WILL AND WONT DRAW!
-Provide a lot of examples
People won't want to commission you if you don't have recent examples or any at all..!
-Price sheet should be easy to find
Maybe have a tag to find it on or a specific folder?
-Decent/fair prices
you should start low though and once you become more well known and more popular, people will want to commission you more and when you progress with your art the price will go up..!
-Shipping costs if you're doing traditional
You may have to charge for shipping but you shouldn't charge too much (I charge $3 to US and $5-7 out of US)
-What you accept / don't accept (money)
For example, I accept USD
-Be nice/give wips and updates
If you're not nice to your customer they won't want to commission you ever again. If you send updates and wips it makes you seem more reliable and they will spread the word and give you a good review!
-Make sure you are also patient!
Be patient with a customer. If their rude, you may wanna decline the commission and give them a reasoning behind it. ((Example: Rushing, asking every hour for a wip, etc))
-Close requests and trades
They will always go for the free stuff
-Name Your Price
If you ever do this- don't accept anything you don't feel is worthy of your art (example: $1 for a full-bodied .-.)
-TOS (Terms of service)
These are pretty much like rules. State if you give refunds, when they need to pay, etc
DON'TS:
-Be rude to customers
-Over price
-Don't undersell / underestimate yourself
- DO NOT USE ANY SLOPPY EXAMPLES!
