Third Person's view
The wind whistled, the cold air enveloping them as they stared at the night sky dotted with bright yellow stars that constantly twinkle and glitter. It was almost like a large hand had tossed diamond dust into the sky. She wouldn't have been able to do this before when she was with her parents, but when she's with Hiccup everything becomes a possibility. The said boy, no man, wrapped his thin yet strong arms around her waist pulling her to his chest. The cold breeze was blocked out by the warmth radiated through his body keeping her warm.
"You know Astrid, I wish we could stay like this forever."
The auburn haired man saw his divine beauty's eyes glitter with hope, but quickly faded and was replaced with despair.
"I wish that too, but Hiccup you know that as soon as my parents come back..."
A heavy sigh was heard behind her, his breath sending a chill throughout her body making goosebumps appear. She burrowed deeper into his embrace seeking more warmth.
"Why don't you try talking to them, if my parents and yours are friends then this shouldn't be a problem right?" anxiousness was clear when he cut her off.
Astrid brought her small hand up to his cheeks, her thumb caressing his cheeks.
"They don't listen to me Hiccup, all they want is to keep their reputation safe. I don't matter to them, no matter how much I love them they love their reputation more."
Her throat started to tighten, and her vision became blurred. She didn't want to cry. She didn't want to think about it. She just wanted her freedom, and these last few months that she had been away from her parents had felt like a blessing. She finally had a taste of freedom, but it had ended too soon.
"I love you, Astrid, it doesn't matter what they think. You matter to me. I know what it feels like to be neglected by parents. When Ivy passed, my sweet little sister was taken from us, my parent's work took presidency over me. I'd never do that to you, princess, If I could, I'd shout that I love you so that the whole of Berk would hear."
"Well, aren't we feeling like a hopeless romantic today." She couldn't help but giggle. He always did that. Cheer her up when everything felt hopeless. She loved that about him.
She continued "Humor me then, shout it so that the whole of Berk can hear."
Smirking Hiccup slowly got up and covered her with a blanket then moved closer to the edge. But then he stopped and turned his head the smirk still there. Looking smug as ever, he muttered the words that confused Astrid. "Actually, I'll tell the whole world that I love Astrid Hoffreson."
Not missing a beat Astrid replied, "Go on then, tell the whole world." Thinking that she won. That she would be able to get that smug look out of this face, but it didn't.
Instead, his smirk remained, and he slowly walked towards her. Kneeling down in front of Astrid and her small soft hands into his rough large ones. The single touch sent shivers throughout Astrid body and she was anticipating Hiccup's next move. Her breath hitched when he moved his head closer and closer until their forehead's touched. The smirk turned into a kind, warm and loving smile. His eyes were full of love and honesty.
"I love you Astrid Hoffreson." He whispered in a soft voice.
"Why did you whisper?" Astrid asked, and instantly started mentally kicking herself for asking that.
"Because you're my whole world." He said with a gentle voice that made Astrid giggle.
Astrid couldn't help herself as she continued to giggle. He always knew how to make her feel special.
"I love you too Hiccup," Astrid said trying to sound meaning full as possible. But she knew Hiccup would understand her, she knew this as his beautiful emerald eyes began to glitter more.
Hiccup sat next to her again and pulled her to his chest by wrapping his arms around her. The blanket now keeping them both warm.
As a small sigh escaped his lips he felt a punch as his side, it didn't hurt, but he always acted like it did. Only so he could see that beautiful smile on Astrid's face.
"Ow! Astrid! Here I am being all sentimental, and you punch me."
"That's for being a dork." and then she grabbed his collar pulling him towards her and gave him a kiss, but it only lasted for a few seconds.
Hiccup couldn't help himself as a laugh erupted out of him.
"And that's for everything else." She replied softly as a blush threatening to appear, but she managed to cover it with her hair.
"But I'm your dork, M'lady." Hiccup answered with his smug smile.
Looking up at him while leaning against his arm Astrid flash a smile at him, the kind of smile he'd want to see every waking moment. "that you are."
A/N: Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed this little one-shot from the LWTBB. I know what you guys are probably going to say. I've should've put my time into an actual chapter instead of writing something separate. But the thing is I couldn't get this idea out of my head, and I didn't want to forget it later. I'm really sorry that I haven't updated the book yet, but I promise to try.
I hope you enjoyed this ;)
