Chapter 1
The sky is ever lasting blue as one of my maids, Lizeth carries my belongings to my new house, I walk beside her.
Dianaa, my other maid comes through the kitchen door, head bowed. “Sir, I’m so glad your back.”
“Im glad to be back, has any one visited?” I say to her moving aside black hair from my face.
“Yes sir, Master Zeus asked for you yesterday sir” she said taking my coat.
“Fetch him for me will you?”I take off my shoes, putting on gray slippers.
“Of course sir, anything else?” she said backing away.
“That will be all for now, go” I dismiss her, wanting nothing more than a warm shower.
Zeus will be here soon, I must get ready. Sighing I take a quick shower and put on a tunic and a finely made necklace that a human had given to me as a gift of gratitude for saving his life, no need for a shirt with this hot weather.
“Were have you been?” a dark and deep voice said behind me, I turn to see a tall dark haired man.
“Hello father” I meet his dark blue eyes that are so much like my own.
“You’ve been gone a long time and without telling me were you were going,” he pointed out, tough love.
“I was out in business father,” I sit and gesture for him to take a seat as well.
“Without letting anyone know?”
“Father I am more than old enough to roam as I please.”
“Still talk like a child I see” I take out a cigar and put my finger near the end of it, a flame appearing at the tip of it, lighting the cigar.
“Still haven’t quit I see,” he said.
“Old habits die hard”, I reply.
“The council will meet tomorrow, you are to attend”, he said flatly.
“What for?”
“You’ll see”, he said as he walks out.
“Nice to see you too”, I whisper.
The next morning the sun hits hard, making me rethink weather I should wear anything at all. Father would definitely not approve of that.
The council consisted of the first twelve gods, I’m the thirteenth god, twin brother of Hephaestus. No one knew about me until recently when my father set out to look for me unrevealing the truth of another of his affair.
There’s a long rectangular table, Zeus my father sitting at the front while Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera and Ares sit on the left of him. Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis sit on the right of him and Hephaestus on the opposite of Zeus.
A golden chair similar to Hephaestus’s chair is put next to him, knowing that is where I shall sit I walk towards it but not before l receive a dirty look from Hera, Zeus’s wife.
Figured she wouldn’t like me around, and I don’t blame her, father is quit a player.
Bells chime.
“Welcome” My father spoke up, loud and clear.
I roll my eyes seeing Hera looking ever bored.
“I have gathered you all here because there seems to be a virus .It is spreading, very quickly. Killing the humans within minutes, making their organs burst.” no one even blinks, typical. Gods don't like getting involved in humans business
“How was this virus created?” asked Athena, Zeus’s favorite child. Ugh.
“I don’t know, but the virus needs to be stopped in its tracks before it spreads throughout the rest of the world,” he stated.
“Were did it originate?” Apollo asked setting his silver bow on the table.
“In a small city in Egypt, it is still in the city”, Zeus said.
“We must keep it from spreading outside of the city” Hera said.
Not that you all really care, when was the last time you all got involved in a humans life besides having kids with them like rabbits," i said recieving dirty looks.
“If they're all dead who will believe in us? besides they look to us to keep them safe and healthy,” My father asked.
"Typical of you, only saving them when its convinient to you.
“What about those who are infected inside of the city?” Artemis asks her soft brown eyes going wide.
“They will die,” Apollo states flatly.
“I will need one of you to wipe out the city, stopping the virus,” Zeus said looking at every one of us.
“I’ll do it,” I say boldly.
Everyone turns to look at me, not shockingly knowing I’m the only heartless god here and the most sarcastic one.
“Very well, you will report to me after it is done,” father said walking around the table to shake my hand.
After the meeting is finished Hephaestus walks up to me, to this day I do not understand how we are twins.
While I stand tall and proud with black hair and blue black eyes with god like features he is short with sandy blonde hair and brown eyes and a face that looks like someone stepped on it a dozen times.
“Hello brother,” I greet him.
“Are you sure you can do this Blaize?”
“When have you known me to fail anything?” I asked.
“Never,” he stated.
I nod and leave to my home, needing to pack for the trip.
Egypt is hot this time of year, worse than hell itself so I won’t have to pack much.
