Who is that golden ball of fire
That they revolve around and reflect light?
Who is that yellow snowball:
Flaring like a group of candlewicks blazing
In a xanthoball of wax, floating in the black wilderness-
With distant blobs of blue, yellow, and red,
Clumping aside from their own systems,
Into galaxies, superclusters, and then the universe?
Rocky globes of different gases and land-
They get divided into black and white.
Dirty snowballs get their tails,Space potatoes continue to separate the Jovians and the Rocky Planets.
The aurorae decorates the Earth's skies-
Creating a giant lantern for the day and leaving the Moon to reflect sunlight-
Radiating warmth to the biotic and the nonliving, but-
Sometimes, it gets too warm, pricking the skin,
Leaving red blotches and a grimace-
Sending people into beaches and springs,Pushing animals to forage for shade and water.
What is this huge fireball
That blinds those who see it in the naked eye-
And sends invisible violet light?
