Finn POV

We walked towards the office side by side while he hummed some tune I didn't recognize adding to the incessant chatter that droned around us. I didn't really like the first class I had today but that didn't mean I wanted to be late on my first day especially with a locker problem. After two turns and walking down two corridors we reached the office.

The office lady Miss Rosanne a pretty young woman, way to overdressed for the job her blonde hair pulled back into a tight chignon, lips painted a glossy red and a pretty string of pearls around her slender neck was busy typing away on her computer what she did all day on her computer was beyond my understanding nevertheless I tapped on the counter and cleared my throat to get her attention but she was so engrossed in whatever it was she was doing that she didn't seem to hear me; I cleared my throat a bit louder in hopes of capturing her attention, but to no avail; I was about to do it again when suddenly a loud voice interrupted "Oh for God sake" and palms banged flat on the counter top, followed by "would you listen to him?" it was that guy

The office lady looked up startled and fluttered her eyelashes saying "uhh umm yeah what can I do for you?"

"Umm it would be really great if you could tell us why we both were assigned the same locker?"

"And it would really help if you could do that as quickly as possible, we both have class" the other guy added while standing there with a bored look on his face, arms crossed with his weight on one leg.

"Ah yes can I have your names please?"

"Finn Ryerson and-"

I gave the other guy a questioning look so that he could supply his name; he rolled his eyes and answered "Luke Brannagh"

"And the locker number"

"34G"

"Ok just give me a couple of minutes"

While she typed away on her computer and shuffled a few papers around; I let my mind wander and eventually my eyes landed on the boy standing next to me - Luke the name seemed oddly familiar but I couldn't place where I'd heard it. What he did back there really took me by surprise; he didn't look like someone who could be so abrasive, on the contrary he looked rather delicate in the sense that he was really tall and thin and looked like a very calm collected person. Just then the bell rang interrupting my train of thought and Luke sighed taking out his phone to check the time; a frown creased his brow and I asked him,

"That was the second bell wasn't it?" second bell meant we were without a doubt late for class very late.

He sighed once again and nodded.

"I shouldn't even be here I said out loud exasperatedly.

He raised a single eyebrow; put his hand on his hips and in a tone just as sardonic

"Excuse me? What is that supposed to mean?"

"34G was my locker last year so it makes sense that it would be mine this year too, you're the one with the changed locker"

"And how exactly does that turn into my fault? I didn't choose my locker, we aren't allowed to do that you do know that don't you? I was GIVEN this locker so if it's anyone's fault it's the administrations who regrettably is taking an excruciatingly long amount of time to rectify this confusion"

I narrowed my eyes at him in something that I hoped resembled mild frustration "fine, smartass"

One side of his mouth curved up into an annoying smirk
