The smell of the sea circled around the small boat. It wasn't big enough for fifty people, but none of us had a choice. With a sigh I leaned against the railing. It was a hot summery day and here I was, on a small cramped boat wondering how my day could've went so wrong.
Five hours earlier
A freaking rainbow. No, not in the sky, but on my floor. Clothes and more clothes hung over my chair, the bed... The ceiling fan and they littered the floor. I didn't know what to bring! It was just a family vacation but my family could be very judgmental when they wanted to be. Besides, Kelly would be getting married soon and apparently the family was beyond rich and had expectations that only Kim Kardashian and Angelina Jolie could meet.
I tapped my fingers against the hard wood desk That I was currently leaning on and it happened to be the only clean surface in my room. Well it is now. I threw all the clothes that were scattered across it's surface, to the floor.
What to bring? What to bring? After nearly ten minutes of thinking I decided it was time to go shopping. My back ached as I stood. I could hear the cracks of my spine while I stretched. Grabbing my normal necessities, then a few suitcases and my purse, I walked through the door.
Glancing around with my rays bans on my head, I could see the pollen floating in the air and a few people sneezing hopelessly. I cringed. Luckily I have didn't have that problem.
Walking around them and down the street towards a few stores, I continued to think about my sister's new beginning in life. Her boy toy, Jason, wasn't exactly the nicest guy around. Actually he was the biggest jerk I have ever met. He was conceited and obsessed with his appearance. Not that he was ugly. But at least she is happy although I don't know how...
He was tall, around 5'9. Our family was pretty short, every female only got to about 5'5 if they were lucky and my sister was one of the lucky ones. I was only 5'3 and that easily became an issue.
From all of the bragging that my sister and Jason did combined, I knew that he had two brothers. One was still in high school, a Junior to be exact and the other one happened to be in college studying to be a doctor. Jason's parents were the biggest business leaders in New York and I think that all of that got to his head too quick because he never went to college and he is now living off of his family's fortune. Sweet right?
After nearly two hours of shopping, I began driving to the airport that would bring me to the yacht. Yes, he got a freaking yacht.
Turning up the radio, Fancy by Iggy came on. I blasted it to the loudest possible volume and rolled down my windows.
"First things first, I'm the realest!" I screamed out the window. I continued to nod my head to the beat. My short cropped hair blew around in the wind falling in my face constantly, but I shrugged it off and continued screaming the lyrics.
When I pulled up the airports I was already mumbling, "Let's get drunk at the mini bar." Different adults stared at me with disgust. If only they understood how catchy it could be. I haven't had alcohol in months. Actually, the last time I consumed alcohol was when I graduated from college, last year. Now as an independent 23 year old woman, I was ready to take on the world. Just not with my sister's fiancé and his family.
I visibly cringed at the thought.
Getting to the airport with a soft smile on my face, I smiled at random people who either glared or smiled back. My already chocolate skin was getting a tan, but it was fine, I didn't mind a little sun.
"Flight 257 is now leaving. Flight 257 is now leaving."
"What!?" I freaked. I broke off into a sprint. I can't miss this flight! No! No!
But when I reached outside, the plane had already taken off into the air and my hope went with it.
