"Marko, Marko, Marko!" I hear someone calling me. Someone's calling me, I hear them but I can't wake up. I try and try but it's like I was trapped in my sleep. I was trapped in my sleep unable to wake myself until I realised who was calling me. "CC!" I blurt out as I wake up. As I open my eyes, I see cc sitting in front of me with tears in her eyes. I instantly start hugging her. Although she was hugging me so tight I could barely breathe and I was probably doing the same to her, neither of us let go for what seemed like forever. I finally asked her what had happened. "I don't know, all I remember was almost getting hit by a van, then someone grabbed me and stuck me with a needle". "Ya the same thing happened to me then everything went blank" I replied. I look around and all I seen was five walls all made of concrete with one huge metal door that looked like it was built to withstand the apocalypse. "Where are we?" I ask knowing neither of us knew. Before she could respond, I heard a metal clank that resembled the sound of a blade. The sound repeated over and over again. Clank, clank, clank, clank until I blurted out "whose there!?". Someone with a deep raspy voice responded with a small chuckle then said "you don't need to know yet, all will answer itself soon enough.". I then stood up and walked over to the door. "It's almost time" the voice said as he began to tap the blade again. "Time for what?" I asked as I got to the door. He chuckled again then began to unlock the door. I jumped back and got into a fighting position as the door slowly creeked open. As he began to open the door, I tried to punch him and he easily overpowered me throwing me onto the ground."h-how?" I asked as I sat on the ground confused. "Oh, you didn't know, that needle you were injected with nullifies your NOMA. Now you can't do anything to stop us.". As he began to walk over to cc, I got back up and rushed at him. He then punched me in my stomach and pulled my head down, kneeing me in my face then dropping me to the ground again. As I lay there disoriented, I heard cc scream no. I looked up and seen him getting closer and closer to cc. I got up and said "get away from her". I could tell he seen me as amusing since I was trying to order him around and I could barely stand. "Don't worry, you'll be next" he said as he slowly pushed the blade against her neck. This filled me with rage. As I began to slowly black out from anger, I heard cc say "it's ok, I'll be fine, just run." As she pointed to the door he never closed. "No, I can't leave you here, no, I can't do it.". I felt the tears begin to form in my eyes as I began to walk over to them the best I could. As I got closer and closer, he looked back at me directly in my eyes and smiled as he then instantly slit her throat right in front of me." Nooooooooooo!!!" I blurted out as I fell to my knees. So many thoughts coursed through my mind at that moment. What just happened, who is he, why couldn't I save her, what now, is it too late, should I just die now, is he going to kill me, but most of all, why was I to weak to save her. As my consciousness wavered for what felt like an eternity, I suddenly snapped back into reality realising only a few seconds had passed. I looked over at cc, then the man, then back at cc and realised she was saying something. "I love you." She struggled to say with her last bloody breaths. I never knew how much it could hurt to hear her say those words until then. Before I knew it, I was right in front of the man as I grabbed him by the top of his head and slammed it into the ground. I then turned back to cc and hugged her as the life drained from her. I sat there crying not paying any attention to the man. As I was not paying attention to him, he had gotten back up and grabbed his knife, stabbing me in the back. At this point I didn't care, it didn't matter anymore if I died, nothing mattered anymore. As my sight and senses began to fade into nothing, I had one thought coursing through my mind "why".
