Angel's Love

   Derek

     They told me being an angel of humans would be fun. Well actually it was, up until the part where I fell in love with one of them. Before that life as the Guardian Angel of Human Life was pretty much a breeze. I am Derek, or Dericlease. But we'll say Derek for short. I'm the guardian of humans along with my brother and sister angels. Floyd and Mariah help me navigate the human world easily. Even though I'm the hottest, best, beautifulest one. We keep the world safe from things like asteroids threatening to hit earth and stupid teens about to walk into the streets. But this one time I went to save humanity and things were never the same.

Nemo

     "Alright so what do I wear to a stupid part- you know what explain to me one more time why we're going to this party?" I ask Lily for like the 30th time in the last hour, she knows I hate parties and never go.

     "Huh... Nemo, I said this a billion times now. You are simply my wing girl to keep me from getting drunk or doing anything. Also to make sure I get Joshie Tray. We've been over this" Lily gives me a little nudge with her elbow. She looked truly beautiful but she kept fidgeting with her hair. I looked dumb, like usually, my plain pink tee shirt and jean shorts were nothing for a party but it was the only thing I had. My hair was tied back to its usual loose French braid and then we were off. I guess I'm off to a party. Yippee Me.

     "Hey!" Lily says as she walks up and kisses Raf on the cheek, he blushes hard as usual. Lily has a natural charm over guys but is way too stupid too notice.

     The place is nice, gotta admit. Christmas lights line the deck and there are snacks everywhere near the edge of the lawn. Then outside the fence is an amazing view. There's a giant cliff that swoops down into an amazing, lush forest. I think I've read about those trees being so beautiful because of the poison in the leaves.

     When the sun is almost down and I've tried every food at the snack bar I realize that Lily went to the bathroom 46 minutes ago. Something is wrong, and of course like always I'm right. I grab Raf by the shoulder.

     "Where is Lily?" I demand, getting into Raf's face. He shook me off wearily, he was obviously drunk

     "Oh, um. Well I don't know where Lily is specifically but I know everyone went over to death valley cliff to go diving" he said pointing to the group of flashlights in the distance.

     "But theres no water!" I screamed, what were they thinking. I ran off to get Lily before Raf got the chance to say another word.

     I had failed in keeping Lily sober and probably worse. I run as fast as my little heart can take. But because I don't run and my mile is almost 15 minutes I am not fast enough. I watch as she plummets to her death with some other drunken teens, including Joshie Tray. Some of them were in the back taking videos and smoking pot, I bump into one of the girls knocking her cigarette out of her hand. I didn't really care. I go all the way up to the edge and I don't see Lily. Instead I see a huge bird swoop them up and I hide in a bush. The one right next to the cigarette.

Derek

     I got assigned to some drunken teenagers, which I considered just leaving for death. But then again saving people made me look extra hot. So I swooped up about 7 teenagers off death valley cliff. And when I put them on the ground and bent over the one whos hair was extra curly. I swooped down low almost kissing her and took her memories away when I was hit with a cigarette bud in my eye.

     "Get away from my friend!" a girl emerged out of the bushes. Out of the one eye I could see she was beautiful, but a very suddle beautiful. It took time to see it, she seemed shy but I was in too much pain to care. I admired the way she defended her friend weeks later after flying out silently. I had never been so awestruck by anyone before. That's why I had to find her again.
