Min Yoongi~Letting Go

Suga.

"Y/n?"

I paused from my walking and turned around to see him.

"Y-yoongi?" I breathed.

It almost felt like time froze. The trees stopped dancing in the wind, the sounds of kids playing muted. Only the sound of my heart got louder.

We watched each other with soft gazes, the sadness between us  palpable.

"I-It's been a while."

He laughed softly and absentmindedly played with the ring on his thumb as he sat down on the park bench.

"It's been three years" 

I swallowed and fought the burning in my eyes as I cautiously sat next to him.

"A-are you happy?" 

He hummed and smiled softly. "I've found peace." 

"I can see it. Your eyes.. they're-"
I cut myself off and look away.

"They're what?"

"Clear."

Yoongi tilts his head and frowns.

"Clear?"

I sigh softly and look at him.

"There's no shadow lurking behind them. They're brighter, filled with life." 

He watches you, his dark chocolate colored eyes filled with many emotions.

"I never thanked you for that. You showed me how to appreciate life and the small things. You were always there for me, even when I didn't deserve it."

My emerald eyes lock with his, instantly.

"Yah! Min Yoongi, you always deserved it! You always deserved somebody who understood and supported you a hundred percent!"

A gummy smile was flashed and your breath hitched almost painfully.

"You're still the same."

Suddenly he frowns as he notices your shaking hands. You quickly clenched your hands into fists and placed them in your lap.

"Y/n?"

"Yes Yoongi?"

"Why did you run? Was it the boys? Was it me? Was it Saji?"

My breath stuttered at her name.
"We missed you"

Silence permiated.

" I missed you."

I quickly wiped a tear from my cheek and took a steadying breath.

"It was you" 

Yoongi blinked and sat back. Hurt was written all over his face.

"I..-I had loved you for the longest time. I didn't even realize it at first. I just thought it was normal, we were friends and friends love each other.  It was only when you met her and every day I saw you fall more and more in love with her, that I realized."

"Realized?"

"How deeply In love I was with you."

 I nervously licked my lips and looked at yoongi quickly, catching his surprise.

"Y-y/n.." I flapped my hand and continued.

"I was too scared to tell you. I thought you would hate me and I knew how much you loved Saji. So every day I wore a mask. I wore a mask of happiness, of acceptance, of normalcy."
