Journey as I go on my faithful steed,
To find the lair of the notorious beast,
Day and night I rode on forth,
For I am a valiant knight,Arrived I have at the beast's den,
Where no man dared to go,
My footsteps echoed and my strong heart pounded,
Calling out I did with my steel blade drawn,A pair of glowing eyes stared down at me,
With a deep voice it spoke,
O' chivalrous knight, why did you come in here,
If what you seek may not be here?In anger and hatred I raised my sword,
High in air I struck it down below the glowing orbs,
A painful cry echoed throughout its lair,
The beast itself fell onto ground,Blood poured from where the blade had struck,
It's hide coated in a crimson liquid,
Hazy eyes it stared at me,
Instead of hatred I see sadness,The life in its eyes faded away,
I triumphed in my glory,
For I have slayed the bringer of calamity!
A twinkle caught my eyes where the corpse lay,A shiny trinket fell out of the beast's claws,
A golden locket I had recognized at instance,
Looking at the lifeless body I see the painful truth,
The damsel I was to save was now truly gone forever.
