Chapter 8

Loralai POV;

The bed creaked under my weight as I shifted in my sleep trying to get conformable. I pulled the blanket over my head when the sun starts to rise letting the warm light hitting my once dark room. The door creaks open and I peak out from the covers, curious of who "bought me." I knew my "father" would sell me eventually, just didn't think it would be this soon. "Good morning" the soft voice filled the once empty room and footsteps soon followed walking to the bed that I was curled up in. He pulled the covers away finally exposing his face and mine to the harsh sunlight. "G...Gavin?!" I stuttered looking into his eyes, I was both confused and happy. "Yeah its me," he smiles scratching the back of his neck nervously. "Why?" is all I can say before the tears start to blur my vision, he sits on the edge of the old bed avoiding eye contact with me. "Well I couldn't let him sell you to someone who would use you as a sex toy now could I?" he finally turns to look at me, "wouldn't have matter I'm OK with being used, its what I was put on this earth for right?!" I spat at him as I jumped off the bed my bare feet slapping against the cold ground. He slowly stood up so he towered over me, it was like his eyes were burning holes into my sole....his eyes prodding and digging trying to find something that was happy and full of life. He didn't know that I was never happy unless I was with him. I felt safe and happy when I was with Gavin but then he had to leave me alone with him. I looked away quickly before I got capture in his soft caring eyes, "Why didn't you just let me die on the streets?!" I shout at him, I was suddenly angry at him, my dad but mostly at myself for being so stupid by kissing Gavin. I brought this on myself, I should've walked away and left him but no I thought my "father" would have never found out and of course he did. My eyes watered as the pain numbed my cheek, my hand came up to cover my flaming cheek and looked up at Gavin. His eyes were hard and cold but slowly softened when he saw the tears in my eyes. I held them back, I mean I was used to dealing with the pain I did deal with it for years now. "Loralai I'm so sor..." I cut him off by yelling "Leave me alone don't touch me!!!" Gavin flinched and walked to the door grabbing the handle tightly in his hand, looking back at me. "I'll be back later" is all he said before opening the door and walking out. I heard that dreadful click as he locked me back into the room. I curled back on the bed, holding my throbbing cheek the tears finally spilling down my red cheeks.
