Rori smeared on her dark rose petal lipstick, popping her lips together. Her semi-sophisticated knee length black dress stuck to her skin on her stomach, then exploded in fabric from hip to knee. She smiled at herself wiping the little stain left on her left canine tooth. Looking over, she saw her good friend Lily laying several layers of mascara to he short, stubby lashes, turning them long and lushes. Classic by MKTO streamed through the small speaker connected to her iPhone 5s.
"Who is coming to the dinner anyway? Which celebrity do we get to meet this time?" Lily rolled the foundation brush over her pale cheeks .
"Not sure, but I hope it's someone cool." Giggling, Rori moved from her spot in front of the honey brown vanity.
"They're okay with me being here?"
"I'm sure they will be okay with it, you basically live here for Christ's sake!"
Rori wiggled a little to the tune, making the gothic style of the room a little more upbeat. "Just because the dinner is tonight, doesn't mean we can't have a little fun, right?" Lily had a devilish look on her face. Rori grinned back with a closed mouth, her black ring lip piercing pressing softly to the top lip from where in was stuck in the bottom.
A high five was placed between the two. The bubbly blonde Lily and brown with blonde streaked hair punk rocker with a hidden pop love didn't look like they clashed, but in reality were the most alike two people could be. As blue eyes met dark brown, they jumped into action.
-.-.-.-
Ten stark white bowling pins sat two feet away from the last step on the curving pine wood steps from the top floor to the bottom. Wide doors that led to the front of the house were dangerously close to the pins, but no worry surged through the young adults.
"Okay, you want to go first?" Lily laid the twin sized fluffy mattress that was stolen from Rori's brother's room on the top of the stairs. Rori nodded, moving her uncomfortable dress to a good position before planting her bum onto the cushioned bed. Knees to chest, she gripped the sides of the mattress, the thin silver lining bunched up into her thin fingers.
"One, two, three!" With a grunt, the mattress slid down the first stair, and it was too late to turn back. Rori screeched, holding the siding impossibly tight. As she got three-fourths down the long flight of wooden stairs, the grand door at the bottom creaked as the golden doorknob turned and the hand on the other side pushed the door and the hinges opened.
Rori crashed at the bottom, every pin to the ground, several fleeing from the mattress' impact. A tiny cheer came from the top of the stairs, until the creator looked at the tall figure looking down at Rori. Doe-eyes blinked up at the man, Rori's father. A low growl bellowed in his throat as he crossed his arms across his broad chest, his red tie crinkling under the thick forearms. Rori's mouth opened slightly as she stared at her father, his brown, bushy eyebrows that scrunched up in anger stared back.
Rori's legs shakily moved from the mattress--that she wished she could hide behind--to standing right next to it, her right ankle still touching it. "What is this?" Rori's father, as she was required to call him, Mr. Smith, attempted to whisper, yet failed horribly.
Sturdy as cardboard that has been stomped on, Rori whimpered out, "Stair bowling?"
"Well I wish you would have waited for a different time. I don't care if you guys do this stuff, but really? Before dinner? Go finish getting ready!" Mr. Smith smiled at his beautiful nineteen year old girl. She was childish, and in his opinion, too old to still be at home, unemployed. Doing anything for his little girl was his mission, however, and he was so used to her getting into messes and causing havoc, he stopped caring.
"I can't believe he lets you get away with that shit!" Lily laughed as she shut the door behind her.
"Of course, I'm his little girl!" A wicked smile lifted her cheeks as she joked with her best friend.
Two pairs of black, sleek heels were slid onto two different females' feet. Both of those pairs of feet stomped down the stairs as laughter and gossip slipped from their owners' mouths. Rori and Lily slipped into the luxurious dining room.
Mr. Smith was rich. Filthy rich. With a large house to accompany an enormous sum of money, it was an amazing place to host parties and have guests over, and boy, did they have people over. Rori loved when celebrities came. Not all of them were singers either. Her favourite was Taylor Lautner. Hottest body she had ever seen. It would be a lie if she said that she didn't have a permanent blush pressed into her face.
The dining room was more like a small dining hall. The floor had grand tile, intricate little designs of angels and other pretty objects were hand painted in the twenty-by-twenty square footage. Ruby red paint spread across all four walls. A door on the right led to the kitchen. Rori and Lily sat in front of the mahogany dining table with ten chairs circling around it. A lace cloth draped over the mahogany, tickling Rori's knees under the table. The two girls were expected to sit up straight, the cotton white napkin in their laps. Although nobody occupied the space besides the two of them, they still sat there, still as a board, trying to stay as silent as possible.
Mr. Smith stepped in the room, with five boys in tote behind him. Rori's eyes widened as she heard her hyper friend squeak beside her.
Out of all the people in the world it was the famous boy band, One Direction.
