Betty’s POV

I watched sadly as my niece packed all her stuff, I was going to miss her but after she told me who her mate was I was knocked for six to find out that she was mated to our Alpha James who was the nicest man I have ever met. He ran the pack with kindness and the Alpha I knew would take the shirt off his own back to help someone. He wasn’t a player like most of the other males his age. He carried a maturity that was beyond his years which is why he was also the Head Alpha of Scotland. He carried both duties off flawlessly and without complaint.
She must be wrong about who her mate is, I have a huge loyalty to that man probably unfortunately to say more than my niece. We had been looking forward to finding out who our Alpha female would be but no one has seen the Alpha in about a month now. His mum said that he was away on business and he will carry on looking when he returned. So she must be wrong!
I was just about to query her story when a loud bang took me out of my thoughts; I descended the stairs to the front door. I opened the door and it took a moment before I recognised the scruffy man in front of me. “Alpha James?” I gasped taking in the hard eyes that stared back at me “I need to speak to your niece” he spoke with a hardness I didn’t know he had in him and I instantly moved aside to let him enter the house. “Where is she!” he growled and I could do nothing but point upstairs.
James POV

“Can you grab my shoes from the hall” a sweet voice rung out as I slowly walked up the stairs, I didn’t mean to use that tone on Betty but I am running out of patience, I spotted the same style of shoe I seen her in earlier but in a different colour, this one was a lilac colour. I picked them up and walked closer to her divine scent “And another thing, if he thinks he can order me to stop he has another thing coming” she ranted calling me every name under the sun before I seen her body tense and she sniffed the air “Busted” I said dryly as she turned and smiled “Did I mention that he was a complete asshole?” she smirked “What do you want” she hissed before turning back round to pack her suitcase.
“We need to talk and since you are obviously leaving, that stops me from running you off my land but listen to me carefully, you are now banned from returning here” I said through clenched teeth mainly because it was hurting me more to say those words. All she done was shrugged, “See if I care” and with that I lunged for her and grabbed her by her shoulders and spun her round to face me “Don’t you ever speak to me like that!” I hissed and knew I was done for, I couldn’t help the electricity that surged through my body, I never felt so alive and once I seen that she felt it too I made the mistake of watching her nervously bite her bottom lip. I moved my lips closer to hers and without thinking I claimed her lips with mine. She resisted for a second but her body seemed to win and she gave me as much as I gave her.
I felt complete, her body moulded perfectly to mine and as she was just slightly shorter than me I didn’t have to bend down to kiss her, I raised my hand to the back of her head and unclipped the clip that was holding her fiery hair in place, the instant that I removed the clip her hair cascaded down her back in soft curls and I wasted no time in running my hands through the soft locks. I knew they were soft but they were so silky to the touch that I was oblivious to anything else.
I didn’t even hear Betty cough behind me or notice that I my mate was trying to pull away from me, I stepped back and noticed the confused look from Sadie as well as a disapproving look from Bettythat told me I was in the dog house, I guess Sadie had told her everything. I knew that Betty had nothing to do with the Redsun pack but Sadie reeked of them.
