Chapter 1

           

(Your P.O.V)
I was on my way to my friend Jess' house with my dad and brother. They were both in the scout regiment as well as my sister Amy, my mum is in the garrison although she is staying at home looking after my younger brother Andrew after she got permission from Commander Pyxis himself to stay at home and look after him. I also have an uncle (on my mum's side of the family) and two cousins in the garrison and an aunt (on my dad's side of the family) and cousin in the military police and my dad's brother and his sons are also in the garrison.

I was really excited to see Jess again because the last time I saw her I was starting my newest gadget, my wrist grappling hook. I had finished it a couple of days before we left for Shiganshina and in that time I had become very skilled with it. It was made out of spare parts from old ODM gear that my dad, brother and sister brought back from the scouts HQ.

(y/n): Are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet

Dad: *sigh* just about

He was clearly very tired of me asking the same question over and over again.

As we neared shiganshina we heard people screaming and saw loads of people getting on to boats as well as soldiers shutting the gate

(y/n): dad, w-what's going on?

Dad: son, stay here

Both my dad and my brother put on their ODM gear and zipped of towards the gate.

Dad: I MEAN IT

But I couldn't, jess was down there somewhere, and I had to find her. Without thinking I grabbed my grappling hook, attached it to my wrist and launched myself towards the small village outside the gate. I managed to locate Jess, she was hiding behind what looked to be the remains of a well, I landed next to her

(y/n): Jess are you ok?

Jess: (Y/N), I'm so glad to see you

she looked really nervous and kept glancing around at the houses nearby

Jess: b-but my mum and dad, I can't find them

after she said this Jess began to cry.

(y/n): Hey it's ok my dad and I are here with my brother, we'll look after you until we find your parents ok?

She wiped the tears out of her eyes and nodded at me

(y/n): we have to get out of here ok, you don't have to get anything from your house do you?

she shook her head and held up a stuffed bear she was holding and pointed at a necklace around her neck

Jess: I grabbed these before I ran out the house

(y/n): Ok, let's go

I grabbed her hand and we ran towards the boats that were already starting to move.

Brother: DAMN IT (Y/N), DAD TOLD YOU TO STAY PUT!!

We looked up to see my brother standing on a house

(y/n): I couldn't leave Jess!

Brother: fine just get to th-

he was cut off by the sound of an explosion, we looked at the gate and saw a massive hole in the gate and a titan, covered in what looked like armour standing there

Brother: (Y/N), JESS GET TO THE BOATS NOW, I'LL MEET YOU THERE!!

(y/n): Come on, we have to go

Jess: b-but we won't make it in time

I just shook my head and began to sprint towards the boats

(y/n): You have to think positive Jess

as we neared the boats I lifted Jess on my back

(y/n): hold on

I then shot the grappling hook at the nearest boat and pulled us towards it when we reached the boat I managed to throw Jess onto the boat but in doing so I lost my balance but managed to grab the edge of the boat and hold on. Thankfully I was pulled up onto the boat by a girl with long black hair.

(y/n): th-thanks

The girl just nodded her head at me and a boy with blonde hair ran up behind her

Boy: are you ok, what's your name

(y/n): I'm fine, I'm (y/n) and this is Jess

Boy: I'm Armin this is Mikasa and that's eren

???: (y/n), Jess!!

We turned and saw my dad land next to us I ran at him and hugged him

(y/n): I'm so glad you're ok

Dad: I'm fine kiddo

He then looked at Jess and a somber look fell on his face

Dad: Jess I-I'm so sorry about you parents

Jess: It's ok Mr (l/n)

Dad: If you want, you could come live with us until we sort something out for you

Jess: I'd like that, thank-

Brother: DAD, I'M GONNA TAKE OUT THE TITAN THAT BROKE THROUGH THE WALL!!!!

Dad: WAIT NO!!!

But it was too late, he had already flew off towards the titan

(y/n): dad, y-you have to go after him

Dad: I-I can't I'm out of gas

We stared in disbelief as my brother flew towards the titan that broke through the wall but as he neared the titan it grabbed the wire and threw him on the ground then stamped on him. I fell to my knees, tears filling up my eyes and my dad just stared, not being able to comprehend what happened.
