Chapter 5

You had now been in the cadet corps for a year now and the majority of you were planning to go to a lake that was a few minutes' walk into the woods by the training camp. However at breakfast Shadis ruined the fun.

*at breakfast*

Eren: so what time are we leaving

Jean: don't tell me you're coming as well

(Y/n): we should aim to leave a few minutes after breakfast

It was at this moment that Ymir, Christa, Jess and mina walked in and sat down at your table

(Y/n): took you long enough

Ymir: Christa was still asleep so I decided to let her sleep in

Jess: and Mina and I were talking about today

(Y/n): right, ok

Reiner: alright guys let's get going so we can get this party star-

Suddenly the door burst open and Shadis walked in

Shadis: all right cadets listen up, today you will be traveling to a village west of here, you will be split into groups without any gear and will set out towards the village. The groups who don't make it there until after dark will do laps around the camp until I say they can stop

The cadets were silent apart from a few groans people made on hearing this. Shadis took a moment to look around before speaking again

Shadis: you leave in fifteen minutes

He turned around and walked out leaving the cadets to accept their fate

Reiner: -ted?

You slammed you head onto the table and groaned while Jess patted your back

Jess: well, I guess that puts an end to our plans

(y/n): *sigh* let's just go get ready

*time skip*

All the cadets were standing outside after being put into groups ready to leave. You looked at the group you were in, It consisted of Jess, Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Jean, Marco, Reiner, Connie, Sasha, Mina, Christa and Ymir as well as some other cadets.

Your group was next to leave when Shadis came up to you

Shadis: (y/n), I said no gear

(y/n): *sigh*, fine

He held out his hand and you took of your wrist grappling hook andhanded it to him and he walked away as you turned to the rest of your group andyou all headed out to begin the hike towards the village.

You had been walking for around fifteen minutes and Eren was already getting pissed at Mikasa

Mikasa: Eren, you look tired, if you want I can ask (y/n) if we can have a break

Eren: I'm fine, stop treating me like a kid

Jean: can you shut up, you have no idea how lucky you are

Eren: what did you just say to me

Jean: I said-

(y/n): GUYS! stop ok we haven't even been walking for an hour, and Mikasa you don't have to ask me if you want to take a break I'm not leading this group

Christa: w-well, maybe you should

(y/n): what do you mean

Christa: n-nothing, it was just a suggestion
