"Honey!" I groan as I roll off my bed, literally. I hear footsteps racing up the stairs as I begin to push myself off the floor. As the door opens i roll my eyes and say, "Im fine dad, just your average clumsy potato here." I stand up and look over at him. He has one hand gripping the doorframe and his other hand gripping his chest.

"Well jesus christ May I didnt know what the fuck happened, and I just didnt want anything wrong to happen because-"

"I know dad, im ok just stop freaking out every time something happens, im going to be ok, I promise." He nodded his head and told me to get ready for school. I said ok and he shut the door.

I look over at my desk and walk over to pick up the funeral card I kept.
Abby May Johnson, 1978-2006.
'She was not only an amazing friend, daughter, sister, and wife, but also an amazing mother anyone could ask for.'

I tear up remembering what happened.

*FLASHBACK*

"Daddy are we almost there?" My 6 year old self whined. I started squirming in my car seat, squeezing my stuffed blue bunny.

"Honey please stop talking, daddy is trying to drive and we can't have him getting off task in this kind of weather." My mom said turning around and pulling my blanket on me.

I made a frowny face and face the window. You couldn't even see anything but white outside. You could see a set of car lights every once in awhile but that was it. We were on christmas break heading to our place in Black Hills, South Dakota, where my mom and her family grew up in.

... Everything just happened so fast. Car lights... Car tires screeching... The sound of metal crashing... The feeling of cold snow flying everywhere... Then nothing but silence afterwards.

Then screaming and sirens come and I open my eyes, everything a blur and slow motion. I sit up and see red snow, but I wasn't worried about that. A few feet away, where there was more red snow was my mother, lying in the cold, red, snow, not moving at all.

All I remember after that was my voice high pitch screaming, my dad grabbing me, and people rushing over to pick my mom up. I wake up in the hospital with a blue cast on my arm, I look over to see my father lying on the chair with bandages on his arm and head.

"Daddy?" I say. He looks up at me and smiles.

"Hey baby how ya feeling?"

"Kind of hurt...where's mommy?" I look into my dads eyes, but all I saw was lost in them. "Daddy?"

"Mommy is with the angels now baby, she doesn't have to suffer in this cruel world anymore." He pats my good hand and then hugs me. I begin to tear up and all the sudden I wasn't breathing from crying so much.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

I tear up again as I put the card down. My mom already had cancer and only had 3 months to live, god decided to take her life before she had the chance to live the last of it.

I walk to my bathroom and look into the mirror. I don't recognize that person looking back at me. The one with green eyes, freckles everywhere, and shoulder length, dirty blonde, hair with blue tips. I shake it off and walk into my closet, picking out my ACDC black tee and my high waisted black ripped shorts. I then brush my hair out and brush my teeth. Not a make up person so I don't put any on. I grab my charger, phone, and backpack and walk downstairs.

"I got cereal and toast, and juice, or whatever drink you want." I nodded my head and grabbed a bowl. I picked out Apple Jacks cereal and grabbed some toast. I'm LI (Lactose Intolerant) so no milk for me. I walk over and just pour myself a glass of water since I'm not a fan of orange juice and coffee.

I sit down on the couch next to my dad and we begin to watch some TV. "So are you fixing to go to all your classes today or am I gonna have to say something again?" I put my bowl down on the coffee table and look at the TV.

"I don't know, I guess whatever I feel like today." I could see out the corner of my eye my dad staring at me.

"May its almost the end of the school year, please just go to all your classes. I know Junior year is tough but your almost finished." I sighed and got up putting my stuff in the sink and walking toward the door. I put my high top black converses on and put on my backpack.

"Ill try ok." I say before i grab my car keys and walk out the door.
(This is the outfit she's wearing.)
