I hear my alarm go off and I grab my phone to shut it off. Once I do I toss my phone to the floor. I lay there for a few minutes before army crawling over to the other side of my bed and reaching for my phone on the opposite side of the bed, without actually being on the floor.
I look at my phone to see I got a four messages from people. Syd, dad, random number, and Stacy.
I look at Stacy's first, she was asking if we could do the interview today after I get out of school because her job suddenly wanted to be a jerk and change it to Thursday instead of today. I messaged her that it was ok and then went to look at what dad sent me.
As I wait for it to load I get up and start looking for clothes. I pick out (Outfit for today)

And as I'm putting my pants on I see the message my dad gave me. He said he had to leave early because he's taking his friends shift today. I texted him ok and threw my hoodie on. I grab my phone and clicked on Syd to see what she sent me. She asked if I could give her a ride since she got grounded and can't use her car for the rest of the week. I texted her ok I'd be there in 10 and she sent ok.
I brush my teeth and grab my stuff and jog downstairs and grabbed an apple and water bottle and threw my shoes on and grabbed my car keys. Before I open the front door I open the unknown message to see who it was.
'Hey is this Ella?'
'Yes, who is this?' I locked the front door behind me and walked to my car. I know I have my number out for the app but usually the people would be nice and say their name.
I get into my car and look at my phone. 'Someone you know.' I get a little freaked out and shut my phone off. I start the car and drive over to Syd's house and she hops in. I decide not to tell her about the message thing because its probably just kids pranking me.
We get to school and walk to first hour. We sit in our usual spot and I see him walk in. Syd slaps my shoulder and I roll my eyes. Colbie Brown. The man I've had a crush on since freshman year. He goes over and sits where he usually sits, in the back left corner with his friends. Me and Syd sit on the far right by the windows of the classroom, away from pretty much everyone. Mr. Daniel walks in and starts class.
I feel my phone vibrate and I jump a little because normally I have it on silent. I wait to look at it till we get our Chromebooks out and see its another message from the unknown number.
'So your not even going to guess who this is?'
I feel chills go down my body and look around the room. He/She said that I know them...
'Am I friends with you?' I message back and look over at Syd who is taking selfies instead of actually doing the work. I look to my left and catch Colbie and some of his friends looking over at me. I feel my cheeks redden and I look away. My phone vibrates again, another message.
'Nah, we just see each other at school a lot.'
'Do we have any classes together, if so which ones?'
I wait for a message, but then Syd scares the shit out of me when she taps my shoulder. "Shit, fuck Syd don't do that."
She raises her hands in defense. "Dude I just tapped your shoulder, what happened, why are you so freaking jumpy?"
I put my phone away and look at her. "Nothing, now what did you need?"
She looks a me for a few seconds and then looks at her phone. " Does this look good to post?" I laugh and sigh a little.
"Its looks good." I look to my left again and made eye contact with Colbie. I immediately look away, and just at that moment the teacher calls for the classes attention. "Ok class, so I know its the end of the year, and this is why I'm doing it my way, because all throughout the year I let you choose who you want to do your projects with. But instead of you choosing partners, I put your names into a name generator so I did not choose. So we'll pick the partners then we'll talk about the final project."
I hear everyone groan out and the teacher laughs. " Ok so the partners we have is Sydney and Drew, Garrett and Bailey, Natalie and Bethany, Sam G. and Dann, Mikey and Brittney, Corey and Scott... Ella and Ryan, and lastly Colbie and Evan." I sighed a little because I wasn't partnered with anyone I knew. I mean I know Ryan from Chemistry class, and he hangs with Colbie so...
He talks about the final project we're doing , which is where we talk about an author we pick from the ones he listed and use the questions listed below. Can't wait because knowing Ryan I'm probably gonna have to do all the work. Once he let's us go I look over at Syd. "Great I'd rather be alone because that's what its gonna pretty much feel like." She rubs my shoulder.
"Hey it'll be ok, I have Drew, fight me lol." I laughed a little and agreed with her.
"Ella can you come here a sec." Mr. Daniel said. I looked over at Syd, who shrugged. I got up and walked over to his desk.
"Ella, would you be ok if you switched and got together with Colbie, only because I know Ryan doesn't do much work and neither does Evan, so I'd thought I'd be fun to put them together to see how screwed they are." I laughed and nodded my head.
"Yeah sure, thank you I have to babysit this weekend so me having to do all the work would be more stressful." He nodded his head and said you're welcome. I walk back to my desk.
"So?" Syd said once I sat back down. Mr. Daniel called the 3 boys while I talked to Syd.
"So now I'm partnered with Colbie instead of Ryan." Syd looked at me with her mouth wide open.
"What?" I said confused.
"You're...partnered...with...Colbie...Brown..." She whispered slowly.
It took me a second to actually realized who I was now partners with. OMFG CISKENFJSKSKD!!!
I clearly may throat, "Well now I'm deeply fucked." She laughed and I started laughing too. Soon the bell rang for class to be over. As I walk out of the classroom I hear someone calling my name.
"See you at lunch girl." I whisper-yelled no and tried grabbing her, but she jogged away before I could. I breathed slowly and turned around to see Colbie Brown. His friends were behind him, a little ways to give us space.
"Hey so I heard you and I got partnered now?"
"Uh yeah, only because the 2 worst students are Evan and Ryan and he wanted to see how they would get it done together." I chuckle and little and so does Colbie.
"That's hilarious, I cant wait to see that presentation Friday." We laughed some more and then it goes silent.
"Uh I was wondering if I could have your number, so we can, ya know meet up for the project?" He said scratching the back of his head.
"Uh yeah sure." I gave him my number and we say bye and I jog to class because the bell already rang. Luckily I'm already done with this class for the rest of the year so it's just a study hall at this point.
