The thunderstorm outside continued amidst the dark skies. Wizards gathered at the Fairy Tail guild hall, an interesting silence looming over everyone.

You were seated with Lucy, helping her out with her brainstorming session for the book she had been writing. The blonde quickly placed her book away once the others had joined the two of you. Like good old Fairy Tail will, the once silent guild hall turned rowdy and Lucy found herself with the strange chatters of Erza and the others.

You were contemplating in joining them as well, until a certain young man took a seat next to you.

"Lively, aren't they?" Gray shook his head at the scene before him, although his eyes were laced with amusement. "I wish I had some of their energy."

"Oh, please." You rolled your eyes. "You're always at the centre of one, along with Natsu."

The man began chuckling profusely. "Not today, at least."

You laughed along with him and stood up, raring yourself to go and mingle with the others. Gray had frowned at your action, fingers now latched onto the sweater that you were wearing.

"See ya later-" You were about to walk away but was pulled back. "Oof! What's the deal?"

"Don't go." A little pout appeared on his face. "I'm bored."

"Then let's join them!"

"And risked getting slapped by Erza again? Not a chance."

You considered his words carefully and true enough, a quick peek at the gang had you noticing that Natsu was already somewhere far away cowering in fear.

He has a point.

"Looks like I'll be sitting here with you." You added at long last, although the anxiousness can be heard a mile away.

Gray visibly perked up at your words, leaving you to look at him strangely. The grin he bore was far too wide and not to mention suspicious. You gently placed your cheeks to rest against the palms of your hands, facing him dubiously.

"What's with that stupid look you've got?" Your free fingers began tapping impatiently on the table. "Can't help but be suspicious."

The man chuckled again, though he quickly mimicked your actions right after.

"Relax, Miss-Know-It-All. It's called admiration."

"Pfft, yeah right. As if that's true. There should be less talk and more action if it was."

"It's true." Gray looked almost hurt. You can't tell if he was being genuine or he was just annoyed that you caught on to his jokes. "Well, whatever. You'll catch on soon enough."

Your fingers abruptly stop at his words, his gaze on your face a little too intense for your liking. You feigned a cough and turned your attention back onto the Fairy Tail members laughing merrily at each other's strange antics.

"Wait." Your eyes caught on to a new figure. "Loke?"

Upon hearing your words, the mentioned figure turned his attention to you. He waved and began to walk over, eyes crinkling with an unknown amusement.

"(Y/N). It's been some time." The celestial spirit greeted you.

He slid over to your empty side, hands on your head as he ruffled your hair lightly. You frowned as unlike the other female Fairy Tail members of the guild, the man had always treated you a little differently. It was almost as if he didn't see you as a female to begin with.

"You're always doing that." You pouted but it wasn't as if you minded.

"So what are you two lovebirds doing all cooped up together on a rainy day?" Loke asked teasingly and you were sure you heard Gray choked on the ice that he was chewing.
