[Victorin]
What a cocky guy.
"hey, Tori, what's the matter?" Peter's blue brown eyes greeted me with its usual curiosity.
I stared back at him, leaning my head against my propped hand on the wooden table of my flat.
"really? Not answering me now?" he continued as he continued to stare at me.
"go away, Pete." I said as I rolled my eyes.
"and now you're rolling your eyes at me." he continued as he pulled out his camera and aimed it at me.
"what-NO!" I exclaimed as I covered my face with my hands. "You know I hate cameras!"
Oh, but why?
I can now hear Peter laughing as he hid his camera back on his bag, seeing that from the small slit of light from my hands.
"aww. You used to love posing in front of the camera for me." He whined.
Really?
"We change. Now stop being like a whining child." I replied as I removed my hands and placed them on the table linen, now smoothing its folds.
"So you say." He replied, something now replaxing the cheerfulness he had. "Yeah, we do change."
I know what he's trying to say. No- I know who he's talking about.
We change because we have to go along with the consistency of the world.
I decided to throw a paper napkin at him, suceeding with it hitting directly at his face.
"What was that for?" He asked after folding it back and placing it ob the table.
"Under no grounds of your visiting agreement state that you ought to be sad during your stay." I said. "Why are you here anyway? Give me that."
He stared at me.
"You're working at OSCORP." He firmly stated, his expression turning dark.
"So? Afraid I'll be your damsel in distress, ought to be rescued from the clutches of your menacing ex, who happens to be my boss?" I was trying to shift the mood of the conversation.
"Harry Osborn will only cause you trouble."
I'm afraid I'm the one who'll cause him trouble.
"Really? Spidey doesn't seem to notice." I replied as I stood up and walked towards the kitchen, deciding that I should make my guest a cup of coffee.
And he seemed baffled by my previous statement.
"Why Spider-Man? " he asked, turning to my direction.
"You once said to me that Spider-Man keeps out harm and trouble away from everyone. So if Harry Osborn's only trouble, shouldn't he already be gone?" I asked back.
He remained silent for a few moments.
"Not for everyone, Tori. " he replied quietly.
Gwen Stacy?
"O-kay. Let's have it at that. Here's a cup of coffee." I said as I walked towards him and placed it on the table. "The table napkin." I then said.
"Here." He said as he handed me the napkin he was playing with earlier.
"Thanks-" I was about to walk away when he gripped my hand tightly, and stared.
"I don't want to lose Aunt May...or you..."
"No one's gonna lose anyone."
"I'm not so sure about that."
"I think I know what you need." I remarked.
"What?"
"A breathe of the fresh, just polluted city air."
"I'm just about to take a sip from the cup and you're now saying we should go out?" He asked as he rolled his eyes at me.
I hit him on the shoulder in reply. He just chuckled. Finally.
"Finish that while I go and change. And don't you dare roll your eyes at me." I only replied as I then walked to my room, then shut the door behind me.
Harry Osborn is nothing but trouble. He said. But his eyes tell me it's more than just that.
I fucked up so bad with Harry , that he can't forgive me anymore, then Gwen died in the process.
He's now a mad man, but I can't hate him.
"I hate closed ties." I murmured to myself, deciding that on this mission, I finish it. Then leave.
As soon as I could. And no strings attached.
