The two elevators finally stopped.
They opened and revealed a person in each of their spaces.
A confused, composed boy with black clothing stepped out of the mysterious elevator and saw an even more mysterious place.
Followed by a girl, wearing a normal blue jacket, slowly coming out of the elevator.
They examined the place, dark and silent.
The first one to speak up was the female.
"Excuse me, but do you know where we are?"
The male turned to her, replying, "I guess that means you don't know either." His voice calm and settle. "I... don't even know how I ended up in that elevator." he scratched his head, annoyed.
"Maybe it would be best to keep going. See if there are any other people here to either help us or kill us." She said, walking ahead to the seemingly never-ending hallway.
"The second option was risky but you're going for it?" He shrugged and went behind her, following.
The ambience of the strange place was soothing yet nerve-racking. It was like a quiet palace. The lights were dimly violet. There were aquariums with small jellyfish here and there. There was even a big dance hall.
But no other people in sight.
"Just where the hell are we?" The boy looked at the tall ceiling with hanging chandeliers that looked like diamonds.
"Hey, over there."
There was a faint light at the end of the hallways. They followed it and came face to face with what they were looking for.
People. Two people. A stone faced bartender, and a simple looking lady beside him.
And they seem to be standing in a bar.
Before anyone could talk, the bartender bowed down, sophisticated. "Welcome to QuinDecim. Please have a seat." He gestured to the empty seats at the counter of the bar.The girl and the boy looked at each other, and mentally agreed to just go with the flow and be cautious.
They both sat down on a chair.
"Um, may we ask a question?" the girl spoke.
"Yes?" The bartender turned to her.
"Where are we? And who are you people?"
"Please allow me to explain." The simple lady talked this time. "...after we have asked you questions."
"Okay?" The boy tilted his head.
"Thank you. Now, do either of you have any memory of how you arrived here?" the bartender asked their guests.
"N-no..." The boy answered, staring at his hands.
"Very good. And you?" The lady spoke to the girl. "Do you remember?"
She took a while to answer. "No." she took a deep breath. "Actually, oddly enough, I don't remember anything at all. Not even a name." she made a grave expression and clenched her hands on the counter.
Everyone but the bartender was shocked. He remained stone faced. "I see." he simply said.
"With that said, let's introduce ourselves." the boy in black pats her back, reassuring her, it seems. "I'm Hunter Scoville. Nice to meet you, Miss."
"I am your bartender, Decim. This is Chiyuki, my assistant." he points to the lady, who smiled and waved.
"Alright, answer us. What is this place?" Hunter frowns.
