martin the warrior has a uncle who is a wise and powerful king named King Richard the Dragonheart who could not reinforce his younger brother Luke the warrior because his kingdom of dragons claws came under attack by Lord Verdauga Greeneyes and his Thousand Eye Army. until Richard could defeat Lord Verdauga Greeneyes and his army, Richard could not spare any troops to fight badrang and reinforce Luke who understood his older brother position but Martin being too young to understand that his uncle had problems of his own becomes angry at his uncle's refusal to help his father and his own brother. and when Martin is made badrang's slave richard plans an invasion of fort marshank to rescue his nephew who is his heir because his wife has only given him daughters so Richard made martin his heir until his wife gives birth to a son, also to avenge his brother luke's mother-in-law who Died during the march to fort marshank from Windred died during this journey from hunger, thirst, and abuse also to recover his brother's sword from badrang. just as richard was preparing to invade fort Marshank to recover martin and avenge his brother luke's mother-in-law when his soldiers brings a young mouse maid by the name of laterose from noon vale to him pleading for help because her home village of noonvale has been conquered by his old enemy Attila the scourge so Richard turned his forces against against Attila and defeated Attila with his forces. After freeing noonvale Richard had Urrah Voh agree to marry his daughter to his nephew Martin once he is freed from Badrang as payment for his aid against Attila to which Urrah Voh agrees. Once Attila was defeated Richard wanted to go after Martin again to free from badrang but his subjects who are tired of war refuse causing Richard respect his subjects wishes but he sends his eight dragon knights after Martin instead and they are joined by Laterose with her friend Grumm trencher because her little brother Brome has run away from home due to argument between him and Urrah Voh who Brome succeed him as chief.
