"Rumlow stay still!" Elara whisper yelled frantically.

The man had lost a lot of blood. He was propped up against one of the outside walls of the HYDRA base Captain America's team was in the midst of ambushing. Someone had tipped off the HYDRA base that SHIELD was planning an attack and Rumlow had received two bullets in the gut upon entry.

"Eir, how's he looking?" Steve's voice crackled over the intercom.

To which she responded, her frustration slipping through,"He's lost a lot of blood but he'll be fine in a minute if he would just stop moving!"

Elara crouched down and her extended hands glowed a soft electric blue as her magic healed Rumlow's near-fatal injuries. She was so focused on patching him up that she almost didn't hear him hit on her again. Almost.

"So what are you doing Friday night?" Rumlow asked her with a a sleazy sideways grin as he looked her up and down. She suddenly felt very exposed in her standard black, skin tight SHIELD agent uniform.

Elara scowled but kept focus on healing. "Rumlow how many times do I have to tell you I'm not interested?" She replied in exasperation.

"I know I'm just messing with you E," he chuckled before meeting her eyes," but hey, if you ever change your mind..."

Elara gave him a small smile and a shake of the head. "Ok you're as good as new!" She told him cheerily.

"Thanks E. How many times have you saved my ass now?" He asked cheekily while standing and suiting back up to resume the mission.

"Too many times to count Rumlow." Elara laughed. Even though she was uncomfortable with his constant flirting, she and Rumlow were still friends.

Steve's spotty voice relayed over the intercom again,"Rumlow... get in here ASAP... we need you in the West Wing..."

"Gotta go E." The agent in front of her gave her a wink and bolted back inside the base, leaving Elara out in the harsh cold. She stood and immediately felt dizzy. The girl put a hand on the cold stone wall for support. Her head pulsed with a dull pain. Healing always took a lot out of her. Once the dizziness had left her, Elara stood straight, a little more tired than she had been prior to healing Rumlow.

She shivered and aimlessly kicked at snow around the Quinjet. Most of her work on these missions came after they had been completed. She had almost no training and was pretty useless in combat so she only participated in healing the agents when on the way home or sometimes during the mission if the injury is severe enough.

Elara huddled closer to herself and puffed out a breath. She stood still and watched as her breath formed transparent clouds before dissipating. It was freezing as hell and all she really wanted was to be home, curled up in her big bed inside her apartment back in D.C. Fortunately for her, this was a relatively easy mission located just above the border of Canada. It should only take about an hour to get back to D.C. on the jet.

The team finished up the attack on the HYDRA base pretty quickly. This had been a small operation.

Elara looked up from watching her boot draw pointlessly in the snow to see Captain America leading his team out of entrance to the base.

"Any hostages?" The small blonde asked him even though she knew there's never any.

"No. Same story as the other bases," Steve answered shortly in frustration.
