Infinite Love

Chapter 2

School was kinda slow on Monday, and History was even longer. We had a huge test that I, of course, studied for. I didn't know how to amswer any of the questions because I was thinking about what Kenneth and Luke said to me. How did they know Caden liked me? Why would Caden even tell them that? He was so quiet and kinda shy, but lately he's been different. After History class, I went to lunch with Sarah and Iyana. They went on and on about how I should ask Caden out. I honestly wouldn't mind going on a date with Caden but he has to tell me how he feels about me and he has to ask me.

The next few days Caden was continuing to act abnormally. He began hanging out with me more, texting me a lot, and asking me a LOT of questions like: Do you like anyone? or, Do you have a boyfriend?. It annoyed me a lot, but I decided to deal with it. On Thursday, Caden asked if he could come over so we could work on the homework together.

"Hey Zoe, can I come over? I was wondering if you could help me with my homework," he said over the phone.

"Ummm, sure I guess. Which homework do you need help with?" I said awkwardly.

"Ok, I'll be there in about 10 minutes."

"Ok, see you then."

Then I hung up. Even though I didn't like Caden as more than a friend, I still felt the need to put on makeup and dress really nice. By then time I was finished, Caden was there. We went up to my room to do our homework. My parents didn't really mind, they were really into "young love".

"You look a little over dressed to be doing homework," he laughed.

"Oh, when you called I was expirementing with my makeup and trying on some clothes," I lied, "oh, ok. So do you want to get started?"

"Yeah, of course. So I was having trouble with these 3 problems," he pointed to the 3 problems in his textbook. I looked over at them and read the problems.

"Ok, so you have to first you have to find the square root, and them you subtract it from 15. Then you have to turn that number into a negative,  and divide it by......." I saw him staring at me, "why are you staring at me like that?"

"Because you're the most beautiful girl I've ever met. You're smart, funny, honest, and you don't care what people think of you. I really like you, Zoe. And I was wondering if......" I interrupted him.

"Wait, this is a lot at once. I'm really flattered and all but I'm not sure if......." Then I began to think, Caden is a really nice guy and he's really thoughtful. Caring, loving, funny, and smart. I realized I actually liked Caden and more than a friend.

"Caden, forget what I just said. Hmmm, how do I put this. Ummm, well you see, ummm, I ummm, well I thimk you're a really great guy and....." then, as his way of telling me to shut up, he interupted me wuth a kiss. It lasted for about 10 seconds. I counted in my head 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10. Then I pulled away.

"That was nice," I said.

"Yeah it was," he said.

"Wanna do it again?" I said.

"Of course," he said, then leaned in to kiss me. We started kissing then he moved his tongue into my mouth and I did the same. We moved in sync like we were made for each other.

The next day, I walked to school. When I got there Sarah, Iyana, Kenneth, Caden, and Luke were waiting for me in the hall.

"What's going on?"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" they all said.

"But my birthday is in July and its June," I said.

"We know but we wanted to celebrate now," Luke said.

"Ok........" I said awkwardly.

"So, what do you want to do after school?" Caden said.

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe we could go rollerskating or something," I said.

"Oh thats perfect, it'll be so romantic. Maybe you and Caden could get closer. If you know what I mean," Sarah said, winking to me.

"Caden can I talk to you, privately?"

"Um, sure I guess," he said. I grabbed his arm and pulled him outside.

"Did you tell them about last night?" I said.

"No, of course not," he said.

"Oh, sorry. I just thought Sarah knew because of what she said."

"It's ok, but we'll have to tell them sooner or later."

"True. Oh, we can tell them tonight at the roller rink."

"Yeah, we can. But wait, does that mean we're, like, a couple."

"I guess it does." I smiled. He hugged me and said, "I'm glad we're together."
