Ms. Johnson came up to me.
K: where's Ms. O'Feily?
MJ: Shut up you useless child! Line up for adoption day!
Ms. Johnson jerked me up from my seat. It really hurt! I began to cry.
K: s-stop please
A sharp pain hit my cheek. Ms. Johnson slapped me.
MJ: that outta teach you a lesson!
Ms. Johnson shoved me into the line. A bunch of adults walked into the room. I was terrified.
Lucas POV
I was scrolling through my instagram and got a notification on the foster home. I'd love to adopt a little girl! Now I just have to tell Marcus.
L: yo, Marcus!
M: sup?
L: I know this might be lame but I wanna adopt a little girl.
M: bro! That's not lame I wanted to do that also!
L: to the foster home!
Katie POV
I watched as children were being taken home by their new parents. It killed me inside because no one wanted a kid that didn't know if she was white or black. I went to the staircase because I was tired of standing and sat down. I watched the doors and saw two tall boys walk in. They were obviously twins. They were looking around and they locked eyes with me. I weakly waved. They walked over to me.
L: hey, what's your name, favorite animal, hobby, color, and food?
K: my name is Katie, my favorite animals are pandas and lions, my hobby is gymnastics, my favorite color is baby blue, and my favorite food is anything Chinese or Japanese.
M: wow, it's like you're us. Those are all of our favorite things too!
L: *in spanish to Marcus* she's the one!
The twin boys walked away and 2 minutes later they came back and said: Hello, new daughter.
